"And then Jane made Draco's hair turn purple while I made his nose as big as my fist." Alexander went on with a smile and you blinked, he sure knew how to keep things interesting. He was quite firm in his stance against bullying and Jane was there as well, they quite literally made any bully rethink their way of living up until this point.
"You sure have a talent for attracting trouble." You commented after a while and you son chuckled.
"I guess that's one more thing I took from you, mom." He replied and you smiled, although he looked like a younger and more gentle Tom, his heart was nothing like his father's or yours... which somehow made you wonder... would he be the same if his father was alive and could affect him?
"Alexander I want to talk to you... about your father."
"I already know all I need to know." He muttered darkly, you looked at him surprised.
"What do you mean?"
"I know who he is, I know what he did to my friend, Harry and what he did to you. And I also know about his past... well, part of it."
"Did Dumbledore tell you?"
"No... but his diary did." He confessed and your eyes widen in horror.
"You took his diary?!"
"I'm sorry mother, I was curious... but I gave it back to Draco's dad, I promise."
"What... did you two talk about?"
"Well, he was pretty shocked to learn that you and him had a son... he showed me the incident with the Basilisk... when he stayed at our house in this world... he also showed many memories of you two together, like when you first met."
"It seems your father actually wants you to get to know him."
"Well I don't! He hurt you and I hate him!" Alexander declaired angrily and you sighed.
"Although we never really had a good relationship... I don't want you to think of him as a complete monster... even he had moments where he seemed more human that what I imagined... I was too young then to understand..."
"I don't care! What he did to everyone was wrong!"
"I will not deny it... anyway, you should go back to your dorm."
"Okay mom, goodnight." He mumbled, he gave you a kiss on the cheek and then left, seconds after that you saw professor Quirrell... he seemed scared.
"Professor." You said calmly and he looked at you shocked.
"Professor (L/N). It's quite late, is there something you need?"
"No, I simply saw you and I got curious. Are you okay?"
"Yes, yes... I just need some rest. Goodnight." He mumbled and left in a hurry... and it was clear to you that he was a really bad actor.
However your job wasn't to get your nose in other people's buisness and so you returned to your room, unaware that this was the last time you'd ever see that man.
~ A YEAR AFTER HARRY DEFEATED QUIRRELL AND VOLDEMORT~
Well, you had been shocked for quite a few things recently, one of them being the news of Quirrell having Voldemort's face at the back of his head, which made you wonder how was it possible that he had no idea of Alexander's existence until your son got the diary. The most logical scenario was that Quirrell being enclosed into his own self centered and victim blaming world, never really paid all that much attention to Alexander, thus not allowing Voldemort as well to notice your son.
The second was that apparently, Harry got rid of both Quirrell and Voldemort with the help of his friends. The boy was proving to be so much like his father, such energy was admirable, even if it sent him into a dangerous road. On that note, you had chewed out Dumbledore for not keeping an eye on the children, he was the headmaster yet either you or someone else dealt with stuff like that. Problems just kept appearing left and right, all the time.
For now though, you had been keeping a close eye on Harry Potter, after managing to kick Lucius Malfoy out, strange things began occuring, yet again.
For starters you were sure someone was keeping an eye on you and if you had to bet, it was Severus Snape. When Harry told you about Quirrell and the dark lord, you had been on high alert... and more importantly, you had been searching for Tom's diary since Lucius no longer had it, which understandably, made you fear for the worst.
The new school year had started and you had been very busy preparing all that was needed as the new professor that teached History of magic... and as for Quirrell's place, his replacement was a swallow, absent minded and egotistical man named Gilderoy Lockhart. A man you would gladly slap since he had the nerve to actually suggest that you sleep with him... and the fact that he acted like you were a silly schoolgirl with a non existing crush on him really pissed you off. It wasn't until you told him that the last man you slept with was the dark lord and showed your son that he kept himself at bay.
"Oh come on, he's not that bad." Jenny argued and you scoffed.
"He is the type of man, only a true fool would fall for. I swear that man is blind to the truth... he's not even that good looking."
"Oh? And who exactly can be considered handsome in your book?" She asked taking a ship of her tea.
"To be honest even the dark lord in his deformed state was more attractive than that brainless good for nothing man." You declaired without much thinking and Jenny chuckled at your annoyed demeanor.
"Finally, you say something nice about the man. Perhaps you've come to terms with this matter in a way."
"I said good looks, if we talk about character then both of them, are failures."
" And who has the best character in your book?"
"My son."
"He's not a man yet."
"You asked me about chareacted not age. Beside's I am still searching for that damned diary. I wonder who took it..."
"The diary will come back here... since Harry is here, the dark lord and his remaining followers will come here to end the boy's life."
"I can't wait that long. Besides the last thing I want is for the dark lord to come back and hunt me down again."
"Ummm... (Name), can I ask you something?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"Remember when we were still students here and you spoke about a Basilisk being loose in the castle?"
"Yes... what about it?"
"Well, Xavier told me about Salazar's champer of secrets where he is sure it contains a Basilisk and... I'm worried about your son..."
"I don't know if Alexander can speak with snakes like his father could...I mean, to the extend of being able to control such a creature. He can speak with regular snakes... but Basilisks... I'm not sure."
"Then I think it's best you find out. If Alexander can indeed talk with all types of serpents, magical or not, then maybe he can also stop the Basilisk hiding there... and maybe find his father's diary there."
No sooner had she spoken those words when a scream echoed. You got out and headed towards the spot the unpleasant sound came from, there you saw a student frozen in a shocked expression, you touched his heart and sighed in relief when you heard it beat. The students around you were shocked and scared and so you told them all to go to their dorms at once, soon more professors came and you told them everything you saw and heard.
The only one who seemed to suspect something was Dumbledore who gave you a weary look... it was then that you realized what happened... someone opend the chamber of secrets.
