Last one! I'm working on other stuff in the mean time but they're all REALLY angsty, like ow why did I do this to myself. I'm writing happier content to break it up but a lot of it is for FallSky's AUs and IDK if/when I'm gonna post those... Fall if you're reading this tell me if I can post my stuff for Incoliem AU at least since I'm gonna try and write some actually canon oneshots that deal with the main timeline XD

Xel had spent more time than he intended to in his old world, but he wasn't complaining. Most of the reason was that he couldn't find his phone for life of him? But he was happy to spend time with his old friends for as long as he could before he had to go back. He knew he would have to go back to the animal world soon, as Sally would be getting worried and who knows what Grian has gotten up to in the week he had been away.

But first, Xel needed to find his phone!

He checked the blankets of his bed at his miniature base he had built in the shopping district. He hadn't planned on building anything, but it turned out that it was easiest to set his spawn there in the central area so that he could get up and travel more or less the same distance to any location to meet the hermits. There were a few hermits that joined after season 6 that Xel has met, but most of his old friends had the same amount of crazy base-building skills as before. Big bases meant a need for space... unless you were one of the new hermits that built a base right beside the shopping district. It was cool, but awkward to build anything in that area despite it being the best way to expand the shopping district.

The phone wasn't in the blankets of the bed.

Maybe it's on the floor where the blankets now are?

"Xel! Where are you, you fool? I've called you like five times!"

"Coming, Iskal!" Xel called back and dropped his covers. He took a step, but tripped on said covers and hit the floor with a harsh "OOF."

The Swede opened the door. "What did you do?"

"What does it look like I did?"

"Tripped over your bed?"

"No, I was attacked by a phantom," Xel immediately quipped and got up, kicking the blankets away while Iskall laughed.

"Hah! Sure, sure. Anyway, come on! I've been trying to talk to you!" Iskall complained, hands on his hips like the sassy hobo he was.

Xel grimaced. "Sorry. Can't find my phone. Otherworld Iskall fixed it but it looks like the ID changed or something because when I borrowed Doc's phone the other day it couldn't find it."

Iskall had an odd expression that Xel caught for a moment before changing to intrigued.

"Otherworld me? Am I as smart and dashing there as I am here?"

"Well recently you've been wearing a horrendous vomit-green tux for some reason, so it's debatable."

There was a wheeze and the Swede caught himself on the wall. "Oh my god, I know what suit you're talking about. I got it for a meeting with Mumbo and kept it. Hey! I like that suit! It's not vomit!" He complained. Xel laughed and grinned cheekily.

Iskall glared at him. "You're still the chaotic person you were in season 6, and it's scary."

Iskall's phone went off and he glanced at it. "Oh, right. I was supposed to get you for something."

Xel tilted his head. "Hm?"

"Come on! You'll see!" Iskall placed his hand on Xel's back and pushed him to the door. Xel grunted and elbowed him back, but with a shared grin, they ended their scuffle before they ended up in an all-out friendly brawl. Iskall led Xel through the shopping district, stopping outside a large dirt spoiler wall that Xel had seen and avoided.
