Hollie mentioned that elytra breaking is kinda like the myth of Icarus so why not apply it to our favorite flying daredevil hermit?

I don't mean to hurt Grian but I don't know who else to hurt I'm sorry I love Grian I shouldn't be allowed to write Hermitcraft stuff ><

The storm was strong and Grian couldn't find a way out.

He was exhausted, soaked, and nearly blind in the torrents of wind and rain that buffeted him in all directions.

Terror coursed through him, but all he could do was continue gliding on his elytra and hope that he could fly out of the thunderhead and wait it out.

I can't die, was the one thing his fractured thoughts knew. If I die outside the server boundary, I might not respawn.

His elytra wings were worn from overuse. He could feel their fatigued shaking on his back and Grian knew they were going to give out soon.

But he couldn't see anything! It was just rain and clouds and lightning all around him. No safe place to land. Grian had to keep flying.

Lighting cracked. Grian couldn't see it, but he felt the electricity in the air and was startled by the blast of accompanying thunder. His elytra gave out and suddenly Grian was falling.

"No no no, oh no! I'm going down, HELP!"

The soothing sound of the ocean woke Grian.

"I don't wanna get up, everything huuuurrtttsss..."

Water washed around him, smooth and slightly warm. He groaned and slowly pushed himself up, blinking in the bright sunlight.

I must have landed in the ocean and washed up on this beach... where am I?

"Hello...?" Grian called. His voice was soft, rough- his throat hurt and he was parched.

Seawater, Grian grumbled to himself, I've swallowed enough of it this season.

The dirty blonde slowly got to his feet, groaning as he forced his battered body to move. Nothing hurt more than anything else, so he assumed that this was just from being pummeled by winds for who knows how long, and that thankfully nothing was too injured.

Grian could see to the other side of the island from the top of the hill that separated the beach from the grassland. While it was a ways away, it couldn't take more than half an hour to cross to the other side. It seemed to be a plains island, as there some cows and chickens, and most concerningly, not a single tree.

"Where am I? It's like I'm by Mumbo's base but there's no Death Star," Grian asked aloud, slipping into his commentator mindset and saying his thoughts to no one except his camera.

There's no wood here. I can't make a boat. That's fine, boats are slow anyway. But my elytra are totally shot. Grian didn't have to glance over his shoulder to see the false wings hanging limply from his back to know that, but he did anyway.

"I'll just call the guys, I'm sure one of them can come help me," he nodded to himself and pulled his phone out of his black jeans pocket. He pressed the power button on the side to turn it on, but the screen stayed dark.

Grian frowned and tried again. Nothing.

"Come on, I need to message Mumbo or someone," he muttered. He led down the power button and the screen flashed, glitched, and turned off again.
