I know these aren't what one normally thinks of the Vexes so if I'm allowed to explain-
Their outfits are patchwork, yeah, but not really torn and dirty? They just made their own clothes trying to mimic people but not actually knowing how to sew more than maybe watching Cleo stitch limbs back lol
Their bodies in MC are actually REALLY bland. They're a small version of a player model with next to no variation in texture. So I took some liberties in how I've always imagined them of having the very thin forearms/legs and angular, blocky hands/feet that are naturally armored with a thick, tough material (maybe like rhino/elephant hide?) This armor material doesn't heal very well, and almost always scars. Between the fights and tasks vexes are ordered to do by their Evokers, it's common for all vexes to have a lot of scars because of this fact. Especially on the palm area which is more scarred than original skin because of using their swords and blocking.
They have veins just underneath their skin that isn't covered by armor (forearms, thighs, chest) that when infused with emotion+magic, they glow red. These veins connect to a central core in a vex's chest that glows brighter than the veins. Cub can trigger this on his own, but Scar has sustained enough injuries that he can't go red without influence from his Evoker. And since he's no longer connected to his Evoker, it's very difficult for him to even really get angry, let alone trigger the red glow. Cub tends to be overprotective of Scar because of this typically covers combat for both of them.
They don't really have ears, just holes in the side of their heads. It's a little disorienting for people to realize that but it doesn't effect the vexes hearing so? They can change their facial expressions somewhat but always tend to have the standard grinning face and triangular eyes/mouth/head.

Vexations is one of my favorite works that I've done! And it's been a fan favorite of others too, since it's one of my works that I've gotten real fan art of. I've always wanted to come back to it but haven't been able to come up with something good to continue the story... without changing fundamentals about it anyway. But thank you to everyone who has made drawings of the actual Vex duo!!!!! While these are my designs and thoughts, this doesn't have to change how you imagine them.
