Scene 21 – More perfect than this

2 years later…

“Daddy!” Kieran ran to the door as soon as Aiden entered the house, he bent down and picked his son, “Daddy, mommy lied!” he told Aiden and in a whisper he said, “She is sick!”

“Did you take care of mommy then?”

Kieran nodded his head and grinned at his dad, “Mommy said I was the best doctor!”

He smiled at his son, “I’m sure you are.” He put Kieran back to the floor, “I need to check on mommy. What do you want for dinner?”

“Mac and cheese!”

“Okay. So be a good boy and practice your letters?”

“Can I have pudding for dessert?”

Aiden chuckled, “As long as you can show me letters A and B later.”

Kieran nodded and ran toward the nursery. With that done, Aiden went to their bedroom and looked for Clara, she was lying on the bed, her eyes closed and so he stepped toward the bed and sat on the edge.

“Honey.”

 

Clara slowly opened her eyes and she smiled sleepily at Aiden, “You’re home.”

“Yes, I would have been here earlier if you hadn’t lied and told me you’re okay.” He frowned at her.

She lifted her hand and brought it to his face, “I’m fine.” She assured him, “I have a surprise for you. I left in at the bathroom so will you get it?”

“What is it? Don't tell me you want me to clean the bathroom?” he teased, she shook her head and shooed him, so he went to the bathroom and scanned the room, nothing was amiss, it was also clean and fresh so what was her surprise.

He was about to turn when he noticed something peculiar by the counter, he stepped toward the counter and there a PT was lying on top. He grabbed it and a wide smile formed. She was pregnant. They were finally pregnant!

He ran back to Clara and he saw her smiling at him, he pulled her to him and breathed her, god after three years of trying to get pregnant, it was finally here. “We’re having a baby.”

 

“We are. I’m sorry I didn’t wait for you. I was feeling sick and I was going to drink my medicine but I remembered the early days with Kieran so I took the PT.” she explained, before every time they thought that she was pregnant, they were always together waiting for the PT to tell them.
