Scene 30 – Tearing her open with so much pain
Aiden cursed, damn that black SUV, he hit the brake once the car stopped swiveling down the intersection. He first looked at his wife who tried to give him a wobbly smile and held his hand, then turned his head to the kids in the back, they all seemed to have calmed down.
“You guys okay?”
Kieran nodded.
“What was that about anyway?” Clara asked him as he started driving again, she hadn’t seen it as she was facing the kids when the black SUV tried to run them over. He was turning left to the intersection when suddenly the SUV drove a little bit faster and almost hit them, he of course tried to get out of its way.
Too bad he didn’t see the plate number.
“Just some drunk driver, I think.” He didn’t say that it didn’t feel like it was just an accident caused by some inebriated fool because even a fool wouldn’t try to run a moving car, no it felt deliberate.
He knew he had to report it, he was sure the CCTV caught the SUV, he needed to make sure to call the cops and let them investigate this. His family was with him.

By morning, the kids slept in and Clara didn’t wake them up anymore for breakfast, said they could have a late brunch later on. They were tired and they needed energy for later.
So only the three of them had breakfast. Ian was drinking his coffee while he was busy looking through his phone and Clara was making them French toasts.
“Damn it.” Ian muttered.
Clara placed one toast on Ian’s plate and asked, “What's wrong?”
“Angelo’s in London.”
Clara nodded and sat down beside Aiden, “What does he need?”
Aiden couldn’t really get why Ian’s so annoyed with Angelo Chua, the man seemed nice but every time Clara and Ian talked, Ian would always tell Clara how annoyed he was with Angelo.
“What else? A friend.” He said mockingly, “And my lovely perfect wife is the friend he needs.”
Aiden turned his gaze to his wife and he saw her hiding her smile, she knew Angelo was getting on Ian’s nerves. “Why doesn’t he have any other friends? Especially male friends?” he asked. Aiden was confused, with what Clara had told him Angelo Chua only had the Duchess and her two other friends as his friends. It just seemed weird.
“How could he have any friends? Especially male friends. When he annoys the hell out of a lot of guys.” The three turned their heads and saw James and Cassandra on the entryway, Aiden nodded and smiled at both, James had called and told him that they were visiting, he told James that the door was unlock so he just had to enter.
