Scene 47 – That’s bad parenting
Angelo and Bryony were walking hand in hand toward Peter’s study, Bryony asked him if they could have dinner with Peter. She wanted to be introduced to Peter. He didn’t see what was wrong with it.
Bryony was his girlfriend and she’d be spending a lot of time here at the house with him. He wanted Peter to know Bryony. It was just right.
The door was slightly open and he saw Peter on his desk with one of his tutors and Elsa standing next to him. Peter was struggling that much he could see, his right hand trembling as he tried to write and was shaking his head furiously.
“Why is he still studying? It’s way past noon.” Bryony whispered, frowning at the sight.
Umiling si Angelo, hindi pa siyang handang sabihin kay Bryony ang isa sa mga tinatagong sikreto ng pamilya Chua. Naglakad na siya papasok, “Peter.” Tawag sa anak.
Binaba ni Peter ang lapis na hawak hawak bago nilingon si Angelo, “Dad.” Napalingon ito sa tabi ni Angelo at sumimangot, “Who is she?”
“Elsa, dalhin mo na muna si Peter sa kwarto niya at pagbihisin, sa labas kami kakain.” Utos niya sa nanny ni Peter.
“Opo sir.” Tumango si Elsa, “Come on, Peter.”
Tumayo na si Peter pero hindi parin nawala yung mga mata sa pagtitig kay Bryony, naglakad ito palapit sa kanila, “Who are you?”
“Peter, manners.” Elsa whispered loudly.
Bryony looked down and smiled at Peter, “Hi, I’m Bryony.”
Peter turned to his father, “I don’t want her here.” He said defiantly. He turned his gaze back to Bryony and yelled, “Leave!”
“Peter!”
Peter flinched but that didn’t stop his tantrum, “You’re not going to replace my mommy!” and he marched out of the room.
Elsa and the tutor sent apologetic gazes before they ran after the child.
Angelo raked his hands through his hair, he then looked at Bryony, “I’m sorry.” He placed his hands on her hips, “His mother spoiled him.”
She nodded, “Like you said a mama’s boy.”
Indeed, Peter was. Georgina spoiled Peter, hell maybe even brainwashed the kid with the thoughts that Angelo didn’t love them both and that was why Peter was so damn determined to hate him.
“Let’s go.”
