Scene 22 – Turn back time and change the past

Binati ni Clara ang mga bisita para sa birthday party ni Kieran, ang bilis talaga ng panahon at tatlong taon na si Kieran tas sa ilang buwan lang ay magkakaroon na ito ng dalawang kapatid.

Tinignan niya si Aiden at Kieran na kasama ang mga playground buddies ni Kieran, nandun sila sa may bounce house, napangiti si Clara dahil talagang napakasaya ng anak niya.

“You did great, Clara.” Melanie patted her back, “Kieran looks so cute.”

She grinned at her mother-in-law, “He wanted to be Thor, they argued, Aiden wanted him to be Captain America and I butted in, I said I wanted Superman so we compromised.” Her eyes laughing with the memory of that night when Aiden reached a compromise Kieran agreed with.

Kieran could have the Hammer, the Shield and the Cape. Everyone liked his costume, it was unique said, one mom said if one couldn’t decide on the costume then choose it all.

This year, Kieran’s birthday party theme was superhero theme, last year on his second birthday party, they’d done circus themed party. It was getting harder each year to choose a theme, and now that soon they’d be twins in their party, party themes would definitely be hard to pick.

Tumakbo si Kieran papunta kay Clara, “Mommy!” masiglang pagtawag nito, “You really can’t go to the bounce house with me?” tanong nito.

Humabol naman si Aiden at tumabi kay Kieran, “Buddy, mommy can’t.”

“But my brother and sister might like it too!” They’d found out the gender of the twins, at first they only saw the boy, Clara was a little down then, she wanted a girl so when they finally saw the other baby, she was so happy. So was Aiden, he also wanted a girl.

“It’s too dangerous for them, buddy.”

“I’ll protect them!” Kieran said showing off his Hammer and Shield.

“Kieran, why don’t we just go to the dessert table?” Clara asked, this second pregnancy Clara was craving more and more sweets and because of that, she and Kieran bonded more because of the sweets and Aiden was now the one who tried to prohibit them both.

Kieran’s face showed approval and he nodded, he grabbed Clara’s hand, “Come on, mommy!”

She laughed as Kieran led her to the dessert table.

“This must be a lucky year for you both.” Elaine, one of the lawyer wives Clara had been friends with, said. “With the twins, your pastry shop having another store in Downtown Chicago and Aiden’s promotion.”

When Kieran was one, Clara opened a pastry shop in town, she was bored and she kept baking so Elaine suggested she opened her little shop, it was worth the try so she did with Aiden’s approval of course.
