Scene 45 – It’s his eyes

Ralphe sat by his couch drinking the wine he had promised himself when he was back in space. His father would murdered him if he found out that he stole this from the wine cellar.

He leaned back and shut his eyes. Tomorrow, they’d all be leaving for Baguio to shoot the remaining scenes. He was excited for it, not because he enjoyed filming with Clara, no Clara made sure it irritated him every scene they had filmed together. No one noticed. God, all the crew worshipped the woman.

No, he was excited because he get to spend time with Clara’s kids without Clara’s interference. She’d be doing her scenes without him and he could spend his time with the kids. It was perfect, peaceful and enjoyable.

And if today didn’t prove that he most needed to have some enjoyable, Clara free time then he didn’t know what else. Today, Clara was really a shrew. God, the woman was such a hypocrite, she whined too much.

Today, Direk Ryan had told them that they needed to do a love scene and of course, Clara protested. She told them it was not part of their agreement and that she didn’t need this kind of thing right now for her father-in-law was running for presidency.

He didn’t understand her. Sure, he understood that she was married but what the hell, it was just an act. It wasn’t real. It wasn’t as if, she didn’t enjoyed the real thing with him. Ha. He remembered her screams and moans.

He really didn’t understand her anymore. But by God, he wanted her still.  What he didn’t get was why he was so easily attached to her kids. Knowing that they had been the product of why she left and betrayed him. Still he just couldn’t not care for them.

He opened his eyes, reached out for his phone by the end table and dialed Anton’s. It went to voicemail so he dialed Anton’s home phone. He needed to talk to his best friend.

“Hello?”

He knew that voce. He grinned, “Why, hello there, Cass.”

He heard her chuckle, “Hello Ralphe. How are you?” Cass greeted back.

“I’m fine.” He sipped his wine, “What are you doing in LA?”

“Visiting.” Cass supplied, “So why are you calling Anton at this early hour? He’s still in bed.”

Ah figures. He should have looked at the time before he could. He sighed heavily. He wouldn't be able to reach Anton tomorrow or the other day and he needed to talk to someone preferably his best friend.

“What’s wrong? You found out you don’t want to work with Clara?” there was a teasing tone in her voice.

“It’s not that. I worked with actresses before. I know how they roll.” He said, “It’s her children.” He heard her quiet gasp but he continued, if he couldn’t talk to Anton then Cass was the closest thing even when she was Clara’s best friend, “I don’t know why but I just feel too attached to them. I like them and I like spending time with them. It’s the highlight of my day, Cass. Seeing them, being with them… it’s… I don’t know… then there’s Kieran… there’s just something about him… I care so much for them. Even knowing that their father was the man she loved…” he ranted. “She doesn’t want me near them. She… she hates me… she’s so angry with me and I don’t know why… I mean… I should be the one pissed off and hating her. I just don’t know why she hates me so much. And Kieran… whenever I go near him and she sees us together… there’s this fear in her eyes. But Cass, I won’t ever hurt her children. Like I said they’re so important to me. Cassandra, what’s wrong with me?”
