Scene 34 – When you hurt, I hurt too
It had been three months. Three months of excruciating pain that just won’t go away, three months of being holed up in the room and three months since he’s been gone. Everything had changed then.
The house that was so full of love, so warm turned cold. No one could get to Clara, she was inconsolable. They all had been trying but Clara just couldn’t—wouldn’t let them in.
Clara’s parents hadn’t come home to the Philippines, they were needed here with the kids and Clara. Aiden’s parents were back in Washington for Senator Spence was needed at the Hill.
Ian and Elena tried to visit every once in a while so was Cassandra and James. However, Clara never tried to talk to them, she just stared at them blankly. The children missed their mother, it was as if they had lost both their parents.
Nothing had been the same. Everything was messed up. Clara was messed up.
And nothing could make it better.

Tumakbo si Clara papunta sa bathroom at agad sumuka, pagkatapos niyang sumuka ay sinara niya ang cover ng toilet bowl at sumandal sa gilid. Tinanggal niya ang mga buhok na nagkalat sa mukha niya at nagbuntong hininga.
Oh dear.
Alam na niya kung bakit siya nagkakaganito ulit. At hindi niya alam kung anong gagawin.
“Clara?”
Inangat niya ang ulo niya at nakita si Cassandra na papasok ng bathroom, sinundan niya ang kilos ng kaibigan haggang umupo ito katabi niya at nilagay ang isang kamay sa binti niya. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m pregnant.” Alam niyang buntis siya, ganito rin siya nung pinagbubuntis niya ang kambal kaya sigurado siyang buntis siya.
“Anong gagawin mo?”
Simpleng tanong pero sobrag bigat ng kasagutan, ni hindi nga niya alam ang gagawin niya. Ano nga ba ang dapat niyang gawin, “I don’t think I could do this, Cass.” Iyak niya kay Cassandra. “Sa dalawang beses na buntis ako, nandun si Aiden. Cass, paano ako ngayon? Hindi ko alam kung kakayanin ko ba.”
Ngayon pa, ni hindi nga niya maalagaan ang tatlong anak paano pa ngayon na buntis ulit siya. Ou masaya siya dahil may isa na naman silang anak ni Aiden pero hindi niya kaya. Hindi niya kayang wala si Aiden para gabayan siya.
“Nandito kami sayo, Cla.” Niyakap siya ni Cassandra.
“Kailangan ko si Aiden.”
Dahil hindi niya talaga kaya.
