Scene 40 – Drawn to the kid

The scene starts with the sounds of children squealing and laughing. There are equipments all around the backyard and staff in the side as the children throw mud pies at each other.

 

“Stop it.” Clara admonishes the kids, the children stop, stare at each other, grin and throw mud at their mother.

 

Aiden starts laughing as Clara stare disbelievingly at her white dress now ruined. She glares at her husband and he stops but he couldn’t hold it in and starts laughing again so do the kids.

 

Clara then bends down, grabs a fistful of mud and throws it to Aiden.

 

“Oh?” Aiden chuckles, “Kids, mommy wants war!” and they start throwing mud at Clara.

 

She laughs as she tries to avoid the mud thrown at her, she stops, puts her hands in midair as if to surrender and says, “If you guys side with mommy, I’ll have a very special reward for you.”

 

“Charms?” Maddox asks.

 

“Lucky Charms and Coco Pops.”

 

“Brownies?”

 

“Every food you want, mommy will reward it to you.” she bribes, the twins run to her side while Kieran stays with his daddy.

 

“So this is how it is.” Aiden smiles, turns to Kieran and says, “Kieran, it seems we’re outnumbered, are we going to wave the white flag?”

 

Kieran shakes his head, “No.”

 

“That’s my boy!” Aiden pats Kieran’s head as he smiles proudly at his boy.

 

Before they could throw mud at each other, one of the producers clears his throat, “I’m sorry but…”

 

“Oh my God. I am so sorry. Can you give us an hour and I promise, no more of this.” Clara points at the kids and Aiden.

 

“Of course.”

 

Clara turns to the twins, “Come my little sweets, let’s go use that big tub and have a bubble bath.” The twins jump happily, Kieran suddenly is with them, Clara looks at him and raises her eyebrow, “You’re not on my team. Only Team Mommy can join us. Go to your daddy, Team Daddy by the way is on Rocky duty. Go clean that dog.” Looking at Rocky who is also a mess.
