~Chapter 15~

"He slept through the night and nearly all day now." Aia muttered looking at Inuyasha who was sleeping peacefully.

"He most likely was trying to fight against his demon, that can tire anyone." Shippō muttered looking down at his friend.

"Yeah." Kaito muttered softly.

"How's your hand Hana?" Myōga asked still on her shoulder.

"It's kinda numb right now if I'm being honest." She said looking down at the crimson-coated cloth that was tied around her hand.

"Well, at least it doesn't hurt." Kaito said before popping a berry in his mouth.

"Yeah." Hana said before yawning.

"I told you to not stay up last night.~" Aia teased.

"Oh hush!" Hana snapped before yawning again.

"Well we won't be leaving any time soon, so you should take a nap." Sesshomaru muttered before closing his eyes.

"Sounds like a plan.~" Hana said before yawning once more. She looked over at Inuyasha before scooting a little closer laying down next to him getting comfy closing her eyes. Aia watched as her friend fell asleep, a frown present on her face as she looks at Inuyahsa.

"What's wrong?" Kaito asked sitting next to his sister.

"I... I guess I'm worried. He was so friendly and gentle with her before, what if he treats her differently now he's back to his senses?"

"So you want him to treat her like that? Before you were a nervous wreck with him around her." Aia sighed.

"Hana's younger so I can't help but feel protective. However, I guess seeing her so happy with him like that made me calm down. Hana's right, she told me he may be a demon but he's not a monster." Kaito nodded.

"When he came back to his senses, though he was out of it, he didn't treat her rudely, he even leaned against her." Aia nodded.

"You're right, I'm worrying about nothing." Kaito smiled giving his sister a side hug which she soon returned. Sesshomaru, on the other hand, looked to be asleep as well. However, a certain flea knew better.

"You have the same habit as your father. What's bothering you?" Myōga asked as he jumped onto his chest looking up at him.

"Thinking." He answered simply.

"Of?" The flea demon pushed on.

"Kagome." Sesshomaru muttered softly.

"I see, so she's been on your mind as well?" Shippō asked scooting closer to Sesshomaru so they could speak quietly, not wanting to wake Inuyasha with the thought of her.

"She was taken control of, so I wonder if she's still around somehow, human or not." Sesshomaru muttered looking over at the fox.

"So, you're guessing she's being used as a puppet right now?" Shippō asked.

"I could be possible." Myōga added.

"So, if she's around, will she try to get to Inuyasha again?" Shippō asked looking over at his friend.

"Most likely, yes." Sesshomaru confirmed.

"So, does that mean..?" Shippō trailed off not even wanting to say it.

"If push comes to shove, yes, we have no choice but to." Sesshomaru said closing his eyes again.

"Y-Yeah." Shippō whispered. As the sun went to sleep and the moon came out to dance, the others decided to rest as well. They all got comfortable and closed their eyes inviting sleep to take them into a peaceful slumber. The night went on silently, the wind gently flowing by as the leaves rocked back and forth, everything was at peace. However, there was one creature who wasn't. The dog demon Hana slept next to started to stir in his sleep, eyebrows furrowing as soft whimpers left his lips, ears pinning. He suddenly shot up taking in a sharp breath, clutching at the spot Kagome and Kikyō had shot those damned arrows. Tears streamed down his face as he took him shaky yet silent breaths trying to calm himself.

'Don't you see, I was protecting you from those memories.' A beast growled in his head making him tense. He quickly covered his mouth closing his eyes trying to be silent.

'Yet you let them lock me away after everything I've done for you?' The beast growled again.

"Shut up-"

'Shh, you don't want to wake her. Do you?' Inuyasha opened his eyes a little.

'Hana is next to you, she worries for you. Can't you sense it?' Inuyasha tried to focus, but his head spun from the nightmare he had just gone through. He closed his eyes shaking his head before looking beside him to see her asleep.

'Do you remember when you first saw her?' He stared for a moment, then an image of her flashed in his mind. Her eyes were dull, injured by something he didn't know of at the time, she looked scared.

'Do you remember when she stopped me from killing your last friend?~' The beast said chuckling. Another image flashed in Inuyasha's head. Her eyes were a little better, but not by much, she looked so calm, unlike the others. He remembered her gentle touch, it scared him at first, but soon he came to realize he craved it.

'How about when she gave us her first command?' Yet another image flashed in his head.

'Isn't she lovely?~' Inuyasha squeezed his eyes closed shaking his head trying to block out the beast's voice. He tensed looking down at Hana when she let out a strained moan as she stretched and turned over, then a sigh when she relaxed again. Her jacket and shirt were moved in the process showing her side a bit, her skin looked so soft to the touch. His gaze softened as he brought a shaky hand near her, but then hesitated, then pulled away.

'Do you really think I'm going to hurt her? Even if I wanted to I can't now I'm locked away.' The beast chuckled.

'No, she's special I can tell. When I break out of here I'm going to take her for myself.~' Inuyasha shook his head violently again.

'You know you want it as bad as I do, you crave for human compassion now.' Inuyahsa's ears fell knowing he was right. He looked down at Hana again, she looked to be sleeping peacefully. He trembled a little before scooting closer laying down. He wrapped his arms around her bringing her closer as he buried his face into her shoulder. She flinched a little when she was moved, her eyes fluttered open looking down to see Inuyasha's arms wrapped around her.

"Inu?" She whispered softly making his ears flick, he held her a little closer being very careful to not hurt her. Hana looked over seeing that he hadn't put his armor back on, they took it off earlier so he could rest easier.

"How long have you been awake?" Hana asked shifting a little to look over her shoulder only to see his hair and ears. She sighed softly before turning over, he tensed at this action but still let her.

"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked bringing her hands to his face wiping away his tears. He didn't say a word but only pushed his face into her chest, he felt safer now for some odd reason. Did he really crave to be close to a human this bad? Hana sighed softly before gently petting him.

"So, are you back or..?" She whispered softly wondering if she should have asked. He nodded his head giving her a confirmation. Hana smiled closing her eyes.

"Good. Though, since that's the case, I'm kind of surprised that you're still acting so cuddly. I heard you were a bit hot-headed." Hana teased playfully. Inuyasha's ear flicked before he pulled her a little closer, pressing their chests together.

"Hmm, can you not speak?" Hana asked.

"I-I can." Inuyasha crocked out, his voice was gravelly from the lack of use.

"Shit, you shouldn't force yourself to talk if-"

"It's fine." Inuyasha whispered closing his eyes relaxing. Hana sighed softly before gently nuzzling his soft hair.

"Don't push yourself ok? Everyone knows you need time to recover." She spoke softly.

"I'll be ok by morning." He said softly as he drifted off back to sleep. Hana sighed giving up as she petting him some more, he soon fell asleep taking in her warmth. Hana smiled closing her eyes letting herself fall back asleep.
