~Chapter 39~

"Uncle Sesshomaru, how far are we?" Kaida asked for like the twentieth time today.

"Kaida." Shippō muttered a little annoyed at her repeated words.

"We will be there in a few more minutes." Sesshomaru simply answered in a calm tone.

"Oooh, I can't wait to meet your mom!~" She chirped in a very happy tone.

"I'm sure she will adore you." He muttered looking at Kaida who was sitting on his shoulder.

"Wait, really?" Shippō asked in a surprised tone.

"She's known for favoring children." Sesshomaru simply muttered earned a hum from Shippō.

"Wait, didn't you mention that Inuyasha is still considered a pup since he was sealed when he was only two hundred and three years old?" Aia asked making Inuyasha send a quick glare to Sesshomaru.

"Excuse me?" He asked in a dark tone making Hana lightly hit his arm making him huff and look away.

"Yes." Sesshomaru answered simply.

"Then, maybe she won't mind Inuyasha either? I mean, meeting your ex-husband's child from another woman must be awkward." She muttered.

"Possibly." Sesshomaru muttered thinking about Aia's words.

"I'm sure it will be fine.~" Hana chirped.

'If not, we could just torture her until we get an answer then kill her off. Shows dominance.~' Inuyasha tensed at Yōki's words.

'What the hell? No!' Inuyasha snapped at his beast.

'Why not?'

"Are you ok Inuyasha?" Hana asked in a gentle tone. Inuyasha let out an annoyed sigh.

"Yeah." He muttered.

'You're the worst at lying.'

'No, I'm not, sh-'

"I know you're lying." Hana said in a stern tone.

'See?' Inuyasha's eye twitched telling Hana all she needed.

"What is Yōki wanting?" She asked making Inuyasha glance down at her, then glance at Sesshomaru who seemed to be ignoring them. He let out a gentle breath before leaning over and whispering it to Hana. Sesshomaru, however, wasn't ignoring them and despite Inuyasha whispering, he still heard making his eyes narrow as a growl bubbled in his chest but he choked it down.

"Yōki." Hana spoke in a soft, stern tone.

'Hmm, it's not that big of a deal.'

'It's a huge deal you ass!'

'What worth is she to us?'

'Hana said no, so shut up.' With that, he fell silent making Inuyasha sigh and run his claws through his hair, though now it was a lot easier thanks to Hana brushing it.

"Better?" Hana asked in a playful tone.

"Hmm." Inuyasha hummed.

"Damn, that's the biggest empire I've ever seen." Kaito whispered making Hana and Inuyasha look.

"Whoa." Hana whispered.

"Is that it uncle Sesshomaru?" Kaida asked.

"Yes."

"Awesome!~" She squealed with joy making Shippō let out an amused huff. Once the group grew closer, they were rather surprised when they saw more Inu-daiyōkai, I'll be it a small amount and what was there looked tired and weak, but there were more. Kaida, without hesitation, greeted whoever she could with a cheerful smile, and to everyone's surprise they were rather welcoming to the kitsune's greetings. Once they got to the empire itself, guards greeted Sesshomaru with the utmost respect, then they did so to his guest before they walked past.

"This place is so cool!~" Kaida squealed cheerfully, her tail going a million miles an hour. Little did she know, she gained the attention of a certain female Inu-daiyōkai who was currently taking a walk around the palace to ease her mind. Sesshomaru's nose twitched for a moment, then he looked to the side as he stopped walking making the others look as well. Soon, a female who closely resembled Sesshomaru came around the corner, her golden eyes falling on the group.

"Mother." Sesshomaru greeted making Kaida's eyes sparkle.

"Whoa, your mom is so pretty!~" She chirped. Hana got off of A-Un, so Inuyasha followed standing beside her.

'I see where he gets that look in his eye from.' Inuyasha thought as he gazed at the woman's golden orbs that seemed to scan him inside out.

"We've come in seek of input from you, for even I don't know of this subject." Sesshomaru spoke in an awfully formal tone making Hana glance up at him questioningly.

"You seek my aid? That's new." She spoke in a calm tone before drawing closer.

"Come, inside." She spoke before turning and walking to a door. The group walked in to see what looked to be a throne room. Sesshomaru's mother walked up and sat in her large chair before wearing a calm look.

"What is it you wish to know, my son?" She asked looking at Sesshomaru before her eyes landed on Inuyasha yet again. Sesshomaru looked back at Hana motioning for her to step forward. Hana hesitated but did so before bowing.

"Your grace, we came here in search of information about a being known as Hahanaru Shizen." Hana said in a calm tone, but on the inside, her heart was racing. Sesshomaru's mother was intimidating after all. Inuyasha sensed this making Yōki growl. Sesshomaru's mother perked up when Hana mentioned Hahanaru Shizen.

"Hahanaru Shizen, haven't heard of her for some time now." She muttered softly.

"You know her?" Sesshomaru asked standing beside Hana.

"Yes, I met her when I was a pup." Hana smiled.

"Good, so what Yōki said was true!" She chirped before winking at Sesshomaru.

"See, you can trust him. I uh, still need to work on his attitude." Hana muttered the last part.

"Yōki?" His mother asked with narrowed eyes making Hana freeze.

"What's what Hana called Inuyasha's demon." Kaida chirped before anyone could silence her. Sesshomaru couldn't help but clench his jaw a little waiting for his mother's response, however, Hana spoke up next.

"We've found the Tsuki no shukufuku and sealed it off though, do not worry." She said in a calm tone and with a smile. His mother, however, ignored her words as her eyes bored into Inuyasha. 

"Release this demon." She finally spoke up making everyone tense.

"That's not a good idea." Sesshomaru spoke in a deep tone.

"Huh? But he's nice." Kaida said looking at the group confused by their nervous looks. Hana let out a gentle breath before moving to stand in front of Inuyasha who looked down at her.

"Can Yōki hear us?" Hana asked.

'I can hear your gorgeous voice, Kichōna.' Inuyasha's eye twitched once.

"Yeah." He muttered. Hana crossed her arms.

"We're making a deal, Yōki." Hana said before pausing and really thinking about what she was about to say.

'Oh?~'

'Don't get any id-'

"Behave, and I'll let you stay out until day's end. Deal?" Inuyasha could feel his own heart race due to his beast's excitement.

"Is that a good idea?" He quickly asked.

'Deal, Kichōna!' He roared.

"What did he say?" Inuyasha let out a shaky breath.

"Deal, but way too happy." He muttered. Hana sighed but smiled.

"Don't worry Inu, I'll keep a close eye on him." She said as she brought a hand to the pendant. Inuyasha stared before letting out a gentle breath.

"Yeah."
