~Chapter 23~

"Whoa." Anno whispered after Hana got done telling her family what she has been up to.

"Wait, so Kagome is... the bad guy in this? I thought she wasn't?" Kasai asked even more confused.

"Her body was taken over, it's not really her." Hana explained.

"Whoa... Hana, you're so cool!" Yoshifumi said with sparkling eyes. Hana blushed rubbing the back of her neck.

"Are we ignoring the fact the poor thing could have, I dunno, been raped by this butterfly demon guy?" Yamaji asked.

"That will never happen." Inuyasha suddenly growled making everyone but Hana and Yoshifumi tense.

"Ahah!" Hana snapped making Inuyasha jump out of his skin.

"Calm down." She scolded making him frown and his ears fall.

"Huh, so he is just a dog, a humanoid dog anyway." Anno muttered softly making Inuyasha glare at her. Anno giggled quickly hiding behind Hana being very careful to not touch her wound again.

"Hey, you can't glare when she's right." Inuyasha gave a confused look.

"I'm not a dog, I'm a demon."

"A demon dog." Inuyasha sighed.

"Whatever." He muttered feeling his face burn from embarrassment.

"Ok so you're also saying you need to go back?" Kasai asked.

"Yeah, if I don't we might disappear or something. If the past is messed up the future will be too."

"What makes you think I'm letting you go back when you nearly died several times?!" Kasai snapped making Hana flinch.

"Kasai calm down, she's right, if the past is destroyed then we won't even be a thing." Yanai said.

"She's only a fucking teenager!" Kasai yelled. Hana looked down at her lap silently, Inuyasha noticed this and a soft growl slipped past his lips. Hana looked up at Inuyasha giving him a 'that's enough' look making him fall silent.

"I know that Kasai, and even if you're not the type to believe our culture, but Hana has a purpose like I figured she would." Yanai spoke calmly.

"Purpose? Oh ok so her purpose is to go back and die?!"

"She won't die, uncle Kasai, Inuyasha-sama will protect her!" Yoshifumi said getting on his knees and wrapped his arms around Inuyasha making him glance over his shoulder at the small boy.

"Yeah, a demon protecting her. How do we not know if he's not just using her?!" Inuyasha snarled loudly glaring at Kasai.

"Inuyasha!!!" Hana snapped making his growling stop as he looked at her. She gave him a harsh glare making him look down, only glancing up at Kasai once in a while with a harsh look.

"Umm, uncle Kasai, I think it's the other way around." Yoshifumi giggled still hugging Inuyasha.

"I think so too, haha!" Anno said cheerfully.

"Hana, the writing you mentioned, where did you find it?" Yanai asked once things calmed down.

"In Kagome's room." Yanai looked confused.

"It was right under our noses?" She whispered.

"Uhn! I can go get it if you want? It has all her adventures in it before that last creepy page."

"Oh, oh, I wanna see it, I wanna see it!" Yoshifumi cheered.

"Ok kiddo calm down, I'll go grab it." Hana said standing up, then she turned to Inuyasha putting a gentle hand on his head.
