~Chapter 42~

'Why would you tell her that?!'

'She reacted well Inuyasha, why do you care?'

'Because she didn't need to know?!'

'Why?'

'Because she could have easily rejected us!'

'Why?'

'We're a yōkai, she's a holy being. We're the complete opposite, it can't happen!'

'Why?'

'Every time a being of hell and heaven try getting together it ends horribly, you should know this.'

'Why?'

'WOULD YOU SHUT UP WITH THEY 'WHY'S?!'

"Inuyasha?" Hana spoke up making Inuyasha flinch and look over. She turned over to face him rubbing her eye.

"If you were awake you should have woken me." Her voice was horse and tired showing she had just woken up.

"It's fine, Kichōna. If you're tired, rest." Inuyasha said in a hushed voice closing his eyes, propping his arm on his knee, and relaxing. That was until three seconds went by and he quickly covered his mouth with a hand, his eyes growing wide.

'Oh?'

'Shut up, you did this!'

'How did I do this? You said it.'

"How early is it anyway." Hana muttered softly. Inuyasha hesitated but glanced outside.

"A-Awfully early." He muttered surprised Hana didn't point it out.

"Why are you up so early?" Hana asked reaching over and gently grabbing Inuyasha's sleeve. He glanced down at her hand before moving his arm to gently hold it. She was a little cold from just waking up. He gently rubbed his thumb on her hand to warm it being careful of his claw.

"I just woke up, it was nothing worrying." He spoke calmly.

"Ok." Hana whispered very softly closing her eyes again.

'How precious she is.' Yōki seemed to almost purr catching Inuyasha off guard making him tense for a moment, then look away from Hana.

'Face it, you have no reason to deny it no more other than your foolish fears.' His beast growled. Inuyasha went to contort, but that was soon interrupted.

"You should sleep some more before we have to go." Hana whispered, her eyes still closed. Inuyasha stared at her for a moment.

'She wants attention, give it to her.' His beast nearly commanded, and despite how much he didn't want his beast to control his actions fearing he would get too cocky about it, he listened. He let her hand go, shifted, laid down beside Hana, then he wrapped his arms around her loosely. Hana smiled softly moving a little closer.

"Warm." She whispered so softly he nearly didn't hear her. That's impressive due to his sensitive hearing. He smiled gently as he closed his eyes gently nuzzling her hair.

'See, she doesn't reject us, she welcomes us.' He purred. Inuyasha let out a gentle breath, his hand gently rubbing her side soothingly. This went of for a while longer, Hana had already fallen back asleep and Inuyasha was about to as well. However, his brother's scent gained his attention.

'He must want to leave already.' His beast muttered. Inuyasha sighed deeply before carefully letting Hana go and standing up deciding to meet his brother outside the room just in case that wasn't the case, he didn't want Hana to wake if she didn't have to. When Inuyasha closed the door behind him, he looked to see Sesshomaru slowing his steps and he met his brother.

"You're up already?" He asked a little surprised.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Inuyasha asked sensing the seriousness in his brother's voice.

"You were out of control of your body for a whole day." Sesshomaru pointed out.

"Hmm, I suppose I'm just getting used to it." Inuyasha muttered.

"Possibly, I've notice your recovery time shortening each time. Either way, I am not here just for that. We are leaving in a few minutes, so gather your things and meet me in the main hall just down here." Inuyasha nodded, and with that, Sesshomaru turned and walked away. Inuyasha sighed and walked back inside. He walked over and knelt beside Hana shaking her gently.

"Hana, time to get up." He spoke in a gentle tone. Hana shifted a little but didn't really wake up. Inuyasha let out an amused huff with a smile. He leaned down closing his eyes and nuzzled her cheek gently making her shift again, then her eyes flutter open. He pulled back a little opening his eyes again.

"Time to get up, Hana." He spoke softly. Hana hummed and moved to stretch so Inuyasha pulled away fully. She turned on her back letting out a heavy sigh, her shirt had risen a little when she stretched making Inuyasha's gaze flicker down.

'Her skin is soft.' Inuyasha wore a confused look for a split moment before regaining his neutral face.

'How do you know?' He asked concerned that he missed something.

'Calm your nerves, she's touched us plenty of times, you should know too. Plus, her lips are softer than silk, wouldn't mind another taste of that.~' Inuyasha's claw clenched at his words.

"Time to get goin' again, huh?" Hana said slowly sitting up and yawning.

"Yeah, Sesshomaru said we were leaving in a few." Inuyasha clarified. 

"Hmm, ok." Hana said rubbing her eye.

'So pure.~' His beast purred making Inuyasha stand and shake his head. He walked over grabbing her bag and bringing it to her as she stood up and stretched.

"We have a long walk ahead from what I'm guessing." Inuyasha said holding her bag out. Hana took it and nodded.

"Wouldn't doubt it." Hana muttered taking her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.

"Ready?" She asked with a warm smile making Inuyasha's heart race. No, it wasn't just his.

"Y-Yeah." Hana took Inuyasha's hand walking out with him. Inuyasha's gaze softened.

'You're welcome.' And his gaze hardened a tad bit again.

'Excuse me?' He asked.

'She's affectionate to us only because of me, so, you're welcome.' Inuyasha hated to admit it, but he was right. Hana was always kind, but this felt a little different, and he liked it. 

"Ne, you're awfully spacy, is Yōki active?" Hana suddenly asked making Inuyasha flinch a little.

'Oh, she knows me so well.~' Yōki chuckled.

"It's nothing, Kichōna." Inuyasha muttered before tensing at what he said.

'It's harder to hide now you know she accepts us, huh?' Yōki taunted.

"Hmm, alright. Anyway, we should hurry before we're late." Hana pointed out. Inuyasha nodded before they sped up.
