... Inuyasha's beast is right, however. Naraku knew what he was doing when picking Kagome. Though, I still can't help this weight on my chest. I could have ended a war before it began, but I froze. Am I really fit for this? Sometimes I wonder. I also wonder, was it mother who should have came here instead of me? Am I just the best second? I'm unsure, but maybe. After all, why would she know so much when even grandma doesn't know some of the things mother did?
Hana sighed softly as she leaned back against the wall of the hut her and Inuyasha now shared.
None the less, I'm here now, and I have no choice. The world's fate, my family's fate, rests in my hands now.
Speak to you soon, Hana.
Hana closed her journal, slipping it back in her bag just as the door opened. She looked to see Inuyasha closing the door behind him, a smile pulled at her lips as she set her stuff to the side. He looked over and gently smiled as he walked over.
"How was your day off, huh?" He asked before his eyes landed on where a fire should be lit, but not a single flame danced.
"It was nice, you?" She asked only to be ignored as he walked past and knelt down.
"Hana, you need to keep warm, more so on cold nights like this." He scolded making Hana roll her eyes.
"It's not that cold in here." She said playfully as Inuyasha fixed the fire, then scooted back to sit beside Hana.
"Maybe not, but you can't be this careless." He muttered. Hana sighed, shaking her head as she scooted over leaning gently on Inuyasha. Inuyasha looked down at Hana for a moment before he leaned against her lovingly, closing his eyes.
"It was boring, but, I and Sesshomaru actually sat down and talked for some time. It was kinda awkward at first but soon calmed and felt natural." He muttered.
"See, isn't it easier to get along with him instead of constantly fighting?" Hana asked playfully.
"Hmm." Inuyasha hummed.
"What about Yōki?" Inuyasha gave Hana a confused look.
"Yōki?" He asked.
"Your beast. I don't know what else to call him, so I'll call him Yōki." Hana said with a playful shrug.
"Weird." Inuyasha muttered.
"Excuse me?" Inuyasha tensed.
"Not you, I meant him. He's being weird lately." Hana tilted her head.
"How so?" She asked curiously.
"He's quiet, calm, and he hasn't insulted or mocked me in at least two days now." Inuyasha muttered.
"Hmm, well, maybe he's getting used to you?"
'As if.' His beast growled.
"Uh, I don't think so." Inuyasha said, his eye twitching.
"I'm guessing he finally spoke up?" Hana asked with a gentle laugh.
"Yeah." Inuyasha grumbled.
'Let me speak to her.' His beast suddenly said making Inuyasha flinch a little.
'For?' Inuyasha asked. Hana tilted her head at Inuyasha curiously.
'I just remembered something, move.' His beast snarled.
"What's wrong, Inuyasha?" Hana asked.
"He's nagging me about somethin'." Inuyasha growled softly.
