“I really like it!” I tell Ty regarding the acoustic song he’d just played me. He said he did something for Hayden after I left last night, and wanted to hear what I thought so far. “It gets a little dark for a second, but it’s sweet like… in general!

Ty laughs, setting the guitar down beside his living room couch. “That’s the shit she loves Gen Z for!” he says with confidence. “Haven’t you ever listened to “Your dead Ex?”

I roll my eyes, reminding him of the many concerts I’ve attended with Harlee at the peak of their relationship. “Of course I have,” I tell him. “I feel like ripping your heart out for her might be a little too much for her first day home though, you know?”

Ty laughs, rolling his eyes as he makes his way to his kitchen. “Whatever,” he says in a joking tone before offering me a water bottle. He takes a quick sip of one himself. “She’ll love it.”

I’m glad he’s feeling better about all of this.

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical about supporting their relationship after finding out about everything that happened with Sophie. But I do need to say… I’ve never seen him try to fix the shit he did to Harlee when shit started getting rocky with them.

Maybe he really is different now. I mean, that’s good for her, right? I’m supposed to support it.

She messed up; he messed up… and now they’re even.
