So Ren has been talking with one of the night nurses about sneaking in alcohol for her.
How I got brought into her plans for a threesome? I have no idea.
But I agreed to it without my knowledge and don’t want to tell her about my reluctance yet. I could use this to gain information. Maybe this is what I have to hold over her head.
“Wait wait wait,” I say, trying to catch up as she backtracks on what I’d missed out on earlier. “What did you say his name was again?”
Ren pauses, rolling her eyes before responding to my question. “It’s Cory!” she says, “One of the older night nurses? The one that always sits behind the counter? I finally cracked him- he wants to fuck!”
I nod my head as I recall the guy she speaks of. He’s probably about Ty’s age: Super quiet, doesn’t really do much except answer the phone, and watch the TV hanging up above the nurse station.
How the hell did I get involved in this? The guy looks like a dud.
“Okay… and why do you need me?” I ask, sure to sound curious instead of reluctant.
Ren rolls her eyes again, a mix of excitement and frustration on her face.
“I told him I was bi!” she says as if it were the billionth time she’s had to say it. “He said he’d like to see what I could do with a girl, and it only made sense to ask you! Ella looks sickly, and Sarah’s a baby! Plus, you’re famous… You’re automatically a target!”
I nod my head as if to understand.
She talks about the alcohol he had offered her in exchange for a threesome, but I can’t help my mind from wandering as a million more questions swarm it.
Is this just one of her schemes? Is she trying to get yet another thing to hold over my head?
“I’m not sure about that…” I say, siding with the questions despite Jena’s general interest in anything sexual.
Ren looks a mix of shocked and pissed, but cleans it up quickly. She throws her infamous smile on her face before responding.
“Come on Hayden!” she exclaims, her eyes intent on mine. She crosses her arms over her chest. “I’m not going to lie- I already agreed to it! I’m over being sober! Believe me, it’ll be worth it!”
I can’t respond right away. I still have too many voices bombarding my head with their questions, and making it hard to focus on just one.
“Plus-“ Ren adds after the few moments of silence I left between us. “I know about your whole Ryan deal… So I knew this would be an opportunity you just… couldn’t turn down!”
She says it in a way that makes my skin crawl, but Jena doesn’t let it phase me.
