CHAPTER 40
Boys and a Blue Fish
REN
Hindi pa rin ako pinatatawad ng Mommy ko and she just agreed to help us because of you."
I had no idea why his mother would even like me. But I couldn't deny that I love the feeling and attention she gives me. When she said that I was supposed to be her daughter too, my heart melted.
He led me up the stairs while I wondered why no one seemed to be home until we reached a familiar-looking door.
"See something you remember?" he asked behind me, seemingly amused.
"You're rich and this house has lots of rooms. Why the hell should I stay in a room with you?"
"Because actually, my mom said you will take over my room and I should think about where I should sleep. Can't you see how my mom loves you?"
"Jealous?"
He rolled his eyes before letting me in. "Jealous? I'm actually glad that she likes you. It's an advantage for me."
"Advantage for what?"
He deadpanned me as if I am a chalkboard flashing different sentences in different languages at the same time and said, "I do not know how long I could hold up to you. Couldn't you be so smart enough to figure me out sooner?"
"Hey! I am smart!"
"Then figure me out!"
"Figure you out?"
"I'm telling you. If I caught you just acting it all up—
"Acting what?"
"Nothing—fuck!" He slammed the bathroom door and I heard the shower turning on.
For the second time, I should be the one acting that way like how girls act in their periods but yeah, no. In his theory, it should be him.
LUNCH WENT BY and I discovered that Hans and the cousins were all here before their flight back to New York this afternoon.
They laughed when they found out that Alicia actually walked out after getting dumped by Knight. I left out some details though, especially those that involved lips and shoulders.
Knight wasn't happy about it. He asked me to hurry up eating so I could take my meds which were in his room. The cousins shared glances that I can't understand but I wouldn't even have time to mind it anyway.
"I'll drive back to your place so I could pack our things.
"I got my car back.
"You are safer here.
"Now that I thought of it, CQ is in his room. Gusto mo siyang makita?"
