DOREEN'S POV

"You look beautiful, my lady." The maids helped me prepare for the engagement ball. Mula ulo hanggang paa, sila ang nag-ayos. Suot ko ang kwintas ko.

Ngumiti lang ako. I look great, indeed. They did a good job.

"Woah. Is that you, Doreen?" Hindi ki namalayan na nakapasok na si Vonefort.

"Yes." Nakangisi siya at inabot saakin ang isang rosas.

"You look lovely." He said.

"You look great." I said him. Mas lumawak ang ngisi niya. Its true. He looks handsome in his black suit. Idagdag pa ang style ng buhok niya. I bet ladies would drool later.

"Shall we?" Tumango ako sa kanyang alok. Sabay kaming lumabas.

Nagsimula ng pumintig ng malakas ang puso ko nung malapit na kami sa hall kung saan gaganapin ang okasyon. I put my arms on Vonefort's arm. Lumunok ako ng ilang beses bago inanunsyo ng usher ang aming mga pangalan.

"Lord Vonefort and Lady Doreen."

Tulad ng sinabi ni Vonefort kanina saakin bago ako ayusan, savay kaming yumuko sa presensya ng hari na si Kael. Pasimple kong itinaas ang aking ulo para makita siya. He looks so handsome in his gold suit. He looks so majestic and so mighty. The crown suits him and his red veil.

The King nod his head kaya tumayo na kaming dalawa ni Vonefort.

Pinaghila ako ni Vonefort ng upuan. Nginitian ko siya at nagpasalamat.

Marami ang mga bisita. All ladies are wearing their expensive and fancy gowns while men looks dazzling in their suits. The venue tonight is really wonderful. From the design to the tables, all are well done. Everything is shining in gold and silver.

"Presenting your highness, Kiarissa of Northern Lands."

All eyes went to the center and there's Kiarissa wearing a long, beautiful, golden ball gown. She is smiling ear to ear.
Kael fetched her and brought her at the center. Everyone bowed and clapped their hands as Kiarissa reached her hand to her King.

Aaminin kong naiinggit ako sa kanya. She is holding the hand of the one I like. Tumikhim ako para alisin ang iniisip ko sa isipan ko. I don't want to entertain this kind of feeling now.

She is still smiling until her gaze met mine. Sandaling nawala ang kanyang ngiti pero kaagad rin iyong bumalik but this time, there's a hint of a smirk. Hindi ko nalang pinansin.

The King went to his throne and sat. He looks so weak. His eyes are weary. Parang wala siyang lakas. What is happening to him?

The occasion started and lots of officials stated their advises for the couple. Vonefort is listening while sipping into his wine.

"Stop looking at the King and listen." He whispered on my ear. Tumikhim lang ako at inilipat ang tingin ko sa nagsasalita. Hindi ko alam na napansin niya na pala na nakatitig lang ako kay Kael.

Kael..

Pumikit ako at inalis si Kael sa isipan ko. I should not entertain him in my thoughts since he is not my husband anymore.

Matapos ang speech ng isa sa mga council, tumayo si Kiarissa sa unahan.

"Nais kong marinig ang mensahe ng isa sa mga bisita nating ngayong gabi." Wika niya. Nakinig naman kami ng maayos. Pasimple akong tumingin kay Kael at halos manlaki ang nga mata ko ng makitang nakatingin siya saakin kaya iniwas ko kaagad ang tingin ko sa kanya.

"We all know what she did to our kingdom but can we forgive her and forget the past? She may have the reason to do that to our beloved King that is why he is weak right but our King is wise to know her plans to destroy our Kingdom. Well, what can we say? Galing siya sa kabilang mundo and we don't know the real her."
