Chapter 39

THIRD PERSON

Linus was shocked.

She spoke. She thanked him. He heard it.

Hearing her voice makes Linus rooted in place. He's blank while hearing Doreen's voice in his mind, memorizing it.

Bumitaw ng pagkakayakap si Doreen sa kanya. Ngumiti ang dalaga at kinuha ang papel at lapis.

I can't speak anymore. :(

Ngumiti si Linus and this time siya naman ang yumakap.

"Its okay, my beautiful mate." Hinaplos niya ang buhok ng dalaga. Nagpapasalamat siya at maayos silang dalawa na nakaligtas sa mga umatake sa kanila. No one knows what can Linus do. That's why he banned himself to go to the other world.

Unang bumitaw si Doreen sa pagkakayakap at umiwas ito ng tingin. Doreen's face is red. He chuckled.

"You're red." Masama ang mga tingin ni Doreen sa kanya sabay sulat.

You're the one to blame.

Hindi maiwasan ni Linus na tumawa. Naiinis pa rin si Doreen pero hindi niya rin mapigilan ang ngumiti.

Sa huli ay nagkulitan sila at sabay na tumatawa.

DOREEN'S POV

I tucked Linus to bed after eating our dinner. Nilinisan ko na rin ang mga sugat niya and thankfully, halos tuyo na ang mga sugat niya. I guess my blood did a good job.

Habang natutulog na siya, umupo ako sa upuan sa tabi ng bintana habang hawak ang libro. One thing that I'm thankful is that there are lots of books in here. And they are not just books, they are history books and some medicinal books, too. Kanina ko pa tinatapos ang isang chapter all about mates. Nahihiwagaan ako sa mate na iyan dahil bukang bibig iyon ni Linus. I know a thing or two pero hindi ganoon kalawak ang kaalaman ko dito dahil hindi naman nag eexist sa aming nga witches ang mate.

Vampires have mates but not all of them. Its like 1 out of 10 lang. I think Azuro doesn't have one because he fell in love with my sister. He won't be inlove with her if he has a mate. Daemons on the other hand have this mate thing. Maybe that explains why Linus have one because of his daemon blood.

Isinara ko ang librong hawak ko nang matapos ang binabasa. Huminga ako ng malalim bago tumabi ng higa kay Linus. If we're really mates, I should be with him every step of the way. I should be the one supporting and would be helping him. Same as him. He will be with me until death. Mate's bond with each other is way stronger once it's established. I guess, hindi ko na maiiwasan si Linus.

Nakaharap ako sa kisama habang nag-iisip. Habang buhay nalang ba ako na tatakas? I have no power unless I get my wand again pero matagal ang process noon at doon sa mundo namin iyon pwede gawin at hindi dito sa mundo ng mga mortal. We are not wizards that can use their powers without their wands. My broom, too.

Pinahid ko ang luhang tumulo sa pisngi ko. Broom and wands are witches' closest thing in this world. Parang mates lang din yan. We are bonded to it because we rely our powers with our wands, and brooms to fly. And because I came here to this different world, nawalan ako ng boses. I can't cast some spells anymore.

My voice came back a while ago maybe because our mate bond is getting stronger. Pero noong sinubukan ko ulit, nawala na ulit boses ko.

Tumagilid ako ng higa paharap sa bintana.

Ano na ang gagawin ko?

Hindi ko naman pwedeng takasan palagi ito.

Pero ito naman talaga ang rason bakit ako nandito sa mundong ito, diba? Ang tumakas mula sa masasamang daemons na humahabol saakin.
