Season Four
[Lazarus Rising]
Holly slammed on the top of the wooden coffin, calling for help. She mentally cursed herself for not having a lighter.
She used her feet and managed to break the coffin open, only to find she was six feet under. She started digging her way up, getting dirt in her mouth, but she could care less. She just wanted to see the light.
Moments later, she felt warmth on her hand and she crawled her way up. She laid down on the grass, spread out like she was making a snow angel and squinted in the sunlight.
A figure walked towards her and smiled. "Hey, Holly."
She looked up to see her brother. "Dean! What happened?"
He shook his head. "Not sure. Let's go find out."
As she stood up, she saw two perfect circles surrounding her ragged hearthstone, as well as Dean's. No human could have caused such a thing.
The two of them walked down an empty road and reached an empty gas station. Dean pounded on the door and called in a hoarse voice, "Hello?"
Holly peeked in and said, "I don't see anyone. Break in maybe?"
Dean rolled up his outer shirt in his right hand and broke the glass. The two of them walked inside and instantly grabbed a water bottle. They gulped it and gasped.
Dean noticed a newspaper that read 'Thursday, September 18th'. "September."
Holly frowned. "It's September?"
Dean handed her the newspaper before walking off to the bathroom. Holly soon made her way to the women's room.
She looked at herself and grimaced. She figured she looked bad, but not as bad as she actually did. Her hair was a matted rat's nest and had specks of brown from all the dirt. Her face was sweaty and grimy. She washed her face with the water and ran her head under the water.
As she ran her hair through the water, she remembered a bright white light and a sharp pain. She noticed a handprint on her left wrist and covered it up. She touched it and felt a strange sense of peace, like someone was watching out for her.
A knock on the door caught her attention and she opened the door to reveal Dean. "We need to get provisions. Come on."
They started grabbing snacks and energy bars from the shelves and water bottles. They put them in a plastic bag. Dean walked up to a magazine stand and picked up a Busty Asian Beauties magazine before smirking, flipping through it, and stuffed it in the bag.
Holly rolled her eyes, seeing Dean take the magazine. He walked up to the cash register and Holly frowned. "Are you seriously stealing money?"
"Look, we need cash, this is the easiest way to get it."
"It's also illegal."
"Whatever. No one's here to say otherwise." Dean said, hitting a single button on the register.
As Dean reached into the register, the TV turned on to show static. He shut it off and a radio turned on and white noise filled the room. Holly turned off the radio while Dean grabbed a carton of salt. He poured it along the windowsill.
A high-pitched tone resounded and Holly listened while Dean clutched one ear and continued pouring salt. The sound continued and Dean crouched to the floor in agony. Holly listened in awe at the voice. The window shattered and Dean instantly grabbed Holly, covering her body with his. Dean leapt to his feet and pulled Holly up as they tried to escape. More glass on the ceiling and walls shattered. Holly stood close to Dean as they looked around cautiously.
