"SCATTER!" Chloe yowled at the top of her lungs. For once that entire day, Tiberius found himself agreeing with the obese tabby cat as he whirled around and took to the air after Sweetpea, who was chirping his head off panickily. Mel and Norman ran off to the right, Chloe rolled down some boards to the left after tripping over her own tail and Pops, Buddy and Gidget ran straight. Glancing down, Tiberius saw that the fluffy white Pomeranian was struggling to catch up with Pops and Buddy. Meanwhile, the tattooed pig was right on her tail. His eyes narrowing, the old hawk muttered, "Oh no you don't." Looping back, he dived down and snatched Gidget up in his talons a second before the pig could catch her.
"Let go of me!" Gidget barked, squirming around in Tiberius's grasp. She still didn't realize that she had just been saved. Before the hawk could tell her, the Pomeranian chomped down on his foot. Growling in pain, he snapped, "Gidget, it's me!" Realizing that it was just her best friend, Gidget's ears laid back against her head in shame as she mumbled apologetically, "I'm sorry- LOOK OUT!" Whipping his head back forward, Tiberius managed to swerve to the left just in time to avoid a snake draped across a pipe. Its fangs snapped near his right eye but missed. However, the second snake on his left didn't miss, nicking the old red tail in the shoulder. Biting back a hiss, Tiberius swooped down before a third and final snake could get a chance to bite either him or Gidget.
"EVERYBODY RUN!" Pops howled. Tiberius and Gidget looked down to see the rest of the search party entering a drainage pipe. A large crocodile was hot on their tails. Diving down as fast as he could, Tiberius released his hold on Gidget once they were near the floor and the pipe. They quickly raced inside, Sweetpea right behind them. The little parakeet managed to get in at the last second as the crocodile's jaws snapped shut, just missing his tail feathers while the search party ran screamed for their lives.
They had successfully escaped.
