Taking up the rear of the search party as they cautiously headed towards the group of crying animals, Tiberius had a bad feeling crawling up his spine. It was pretty obvious, even to a blind mole, that these animals were mourning. Most likely a friend that passed away too soon. Based on a few experiences he had when he was younger, the old hawk guessed that the bad feeling was due to the grieving animals. Anyone, no matter what they were, can be dangerous when in a state of grief. He had learned that the hard way after almost getting his eye clawed out by a mourning beaver. Another thing he had learned that day was that beavers were actually very deadly when one ate their young. Shaking his head to rid himself of the memory, Tiberius returned his focus on what was happening in front of him.
"...these guys are a bit testy, so let me do the talking," Pops was just getting done whispering to Gidget, who had left Tiberius's side to with him. Sensing that was a good plan, the old hawk didn't protest. None of the search party did. However, they were equally shocked when Pops then turned his head to a sobbing crocodile and shouted, "Hey you crybaby! Where's the Viper at?!" Mel and Buddy glanced at each other while Sweetpea made himself as small as possible on Mel's head. Chloe kept Norman close to her, clearly worried if a fight broke out. Gidget appeared horrified. Everyone was speechless while the crocodile quietly pointed at a mound of rubble nearby. It had a bunch of pictures and messages on it.
Underneath was a snake tail.
"Oh no..." Pops mumbled, his eyes on the tail. Not looking over at the basset hound, Buddy murmured, "Is that who we came to see?" Sadness written on his face, Pops nodded his head solemnly. Seeing that, Gidget's tail drooped in defeat just as a white rabbit emerged from the crowd sobbing loudly, though one would've thought it was a weird laugh. Hugging the tail, the rabbit cried, "Don't you worry Viper! You will not be forgotten!" He gave the snake's tail a fist bump only to watch it fall to the ground. The rabbit went on to wail, "You'll be avenged Viper!" Wiping his nose with his paw, he hopped over to a wooden crate as he declared, "And if you don't believe me, you can look at my battle plans. It's all laid out, right here!"
The battle plans was just a bunch of blue squiggly lines drawn in marker.
"I don't know about battle plans but I'm seeing squirrels," Mel murmured. Sweetpea chirped quietly, shaking. Glancing up at the parakeet, Buddy muttered, "What do you mean jellyfish? I see cars."
"Candy," Chloe pointed out.
"Clouds," Norman squeaked.
"I see a bunch of skulls and bones," Tiberius joined in. This earned him several glares from the others, specifically Chloe. Turning her head towards them, Gidget whispered in a hushed voice, "Quiet! I'm trying to listen!" All the while, the white rabbit was talking to his comrades. The search party only got to hear his last words, "...that's where we're gonna get those dogs. Bam! BAM!" As he was saying the end part, he violently stabbed the battle plans with a red marker twice before laughing his head off evilly. The search party watched in horror. There was only one way to describe the rabbit, at least in Tiberius's mind.
He was a murderous psychopath.
