"Alright, hang on," Tiberius warned. Gidget was laying on his back, her small paws wrapped around his shoulders. With a brisk nod of her head, she tightened her grip. Spreading his wings open, the old red tailed hawk took to the air. Higher and higher they went until they arrived at the window to Gidget's apartment.

"Here we are," Tiberius declared, landing on the windowsill. Gidget hopped off his back. "Thank you," she replied. Peering into her white walled apartment, the fluffy white Pomeranian sighed. Turning towards Tiberius, she remarked, "What a day, huh?" Chuckling softly, the hawk murmured, "Yeah. What a day."

"Thank you for everything," Gidget stated. She pulled Tiberius into a warm embrace without another word. Gazing down at the Pomeranian as she buried her face into his feathered chest, Tiberius purred softly. He quietly wrapped his wings around her, returning the hug. Nuzzling her head gently, he mumbled, "No, thank you. Today was, by far, the best day of my life."

"Really?" Gidget asked. Looking up, she continued, "Even with how Chloe and the others were treating you?" Nodding his head, Tiberius admitted, "I've been through days of pain and suffering. Today was no different from that. But you, you gave me a second chance to live. You gave me something that I thought I'd never see." Tilting her head to the side, Gidget asked, "And what would that be?"

"Hope," Tiberius answered. Pressing his forehead against Gidget's, he whispered, "You gave me hope." A soft smile growing on her face, Gidget reached up and nuzzled the old hawk. Kissing his cheek, she remarked, "You're welcome. Good night Tiberius, sweet dreams." A purr rumbling in his throat, Tiberius replied, "To you as well Gidget." Before he took off, he turned and asked, "Will you visit me?"

"Of course I'll visit you, I promise," Gidget replied. Just then, they both could hear footsteps approaching the front door. Gidget ran over to the door to greet her owners. In the meantime, Tiberius took flight and flew over to the apartment building across the alley. Reaching the rooftop, his heart dropped when he saw Alfred waiting for him.

Yep, he was in trouble for sure.

Dreading the worst, Tiberius flew down and landed on Alfred's leather glove. He could see the tired look on the old man's face. He waited for the worst. However, the red tailed hawk had nothing to fear. A smile spread across Alfred's face and his blue eyes shone brightly with happiness. Purring, Tiberius rubbed his owner's head with his own.

After a long exhausting day, he was happy to be home.
