Chapter 18

I walked alone at the empty spaces here near a beach. I was feeling heavy and all could think about is how to escape the prison that I was already in. My life already felt like a prison, I never had the freedom to be myself and all my life every time I feel happy, there will always be a consequence. The tables would suddenly turn and out of the blue, I'll be back to my lonely self.

The skies suddenly turned dark and rain drops were felt. It felt like the skies had the same feeling as I am. It started raining heavily but I didn't wanna run and go to a shallow. Instead, I just wanna stand here. I stopped walking and felt my legs gone weak.

I collapsed on the sand and tears rolled down my face. Am I really that worse as a person to deserve all this? I just want to tell all my problems to somebody but all I feel like is that I'm a burden to everybody. I don't want them to get involved with me cause I know that I only bring harm and problems to others.

"I don't wanna live anymore... I just wanna go and die..."

Kim Taehyung's POV

I'M currently here at Daegu with my family. Everybody is happy and enjoying our get-together but there was something that keeps on bothering me. Every moment, I would constantly think about Jennie. I thought that maybe I just miss my best friend but my heart doesn't agree to it. I would constantly check my phone to look if Jennie called or texted. 

I was about to put my phone in my pocket but suddenly my phone vibrated. I looked at it and it was a message from an unknown number. I immediately checked it.

This is Taeyong, I know you're
a bit busy but you gotta get here
back fast

Unknown Number
Something bad happened to
Jennie and I think she needs
you.

I knew there was something going on with Jennie. I know she's hiding this from me but I know she needs me by her side too. She can't be alone and I don't want her to feel alone again, I can't waste this chance to take care of her again.

I walked backed to where my family was. I approached my mom and dad.

"Mom, dad, I gotta get back to Seoul fast."I said in a hurry, their faces became curious.

"Why? Did something happen?"Mom asked.

"Jennie, she needs me--"

"Jennie? You met her again? Have you gone mad? I told you back in the years to stay away from her, right?"Dad suddenly interrupted.

"But dad, she really needs me--"

"I don't care if she needs you! She only brings harm to you, I don't want you going near her ever again!"

"Dad! I promise her parents to take care of her and I don't want something bad to happen to her again. I'm sorry, dad but I'm going."I said, sternly and walked out.

I went back to my room and grabbed all my belongings. Without wasting any more time, I went out. I didn't give any care to my parents, cause I know they'll just go against my decision.

I took a train going back to Seoul so I'll get there fast. Every moment in the train, I would constantly look at my phone to check if she called or texted but got disappointed when she didn't. My eyes are shaking, my hands kept on fiddling with each other and I just can't help but get worried about her.

After a long trip, I finally reached Seoul. I ran going to her place but I didn't saw a sign of her there, even in the place where she works. All I see is Irene, so I ran inside and approached her.

"Good afternoon, sir, what is your--"

"I-I'm not here to order, by any chance, do you know where Jennie is?"I asked and she shrugged a bit.

"Uhm... The last time she went here was this morning, I think she's going to school?"She answered but it was obvious that she isn't sure.

"Thanks, I gotta go."I said in a hurry and started running on my way to the school.
Once I arrived there, I approached the guard.

"Good afternoon, by any chance, have you seen a girl go inside?"I asked, panting.

"I think I saw her this morning, is she a student named Jennie Kim?"He asked. My body suddenly reacted upon the mention of her name, so I nodded. "Well, I think she went to the Dean's office earlier but went out after, I think she headed that way."He said, pointing to my right side.

"Thank, sir."I said and walked for a bit. I was trying to think of a place she would go if she's in the middle of her problems and a certain beach came to my mind.

I started running, the beach is a little bit far away. As I was close to the beach, it started raining. I became more worried because I know Jennie might be here and I don't want her getting sick.

I ran faster and didn't mind the rain. I looked at my surroundings and saw a familiar figure. She was sitting on the ground, her shoulders were even shaking, I know she's crying. I ran to her and hugged her. She was surprised.

"I'm here and I'll always be here for you..."I said and again, she started crying very hard. It wasn't the first time I comfort her when she's crying but everytime I do, my heart keeps on breaking, knowing that the person I care for is hurt. "Shh... Stop crying, I know your facing a lot of problems but let me tell you, I will never leave your side."I said.

"I-I just c-can't do this a-anymore..."She cried and I hugged her tighter.

"I know that, that's why I came here for you. Now, let's go, I don't want you to get sick."I was about to stand up but I felt her body losing control. I looked at her and saw her, unconscious.

I carried her and stood up. I got a taxi and immediately went to her place. I texted Irene so she would take care of her while I go back to my place to put my things back there. I laid Jennie on her bed and caressed her hair.

"I know you're facing a lot, but please, don't suffer by yourself, you're a human too. You get hurt, tired and all so please tell me if something's up, okay? I will always care for you..."
