By the time I got back to my dorm it was 9:00 p.m. and I was beginning to get tired. The police kept me for about an hour of questioning for the investigation. In the end, the man who tried to kidnap me was arrested and taken to get medical care. I stumbled up the steps of the dormitory and made my way to the third floor. Once I reached my room, I slammed open the door.

"Emora!" I yelled.

The room was empty.

I checked my phone and saw that she hadn't responded to me from earlier either. I ran next door and knocked. My room neighbors Kaylee and Astrid answered, looking a bit confused. I don't blame them, I'm never one to just drop by.

"Hey Eris." Astrid greeted. "What's up?"

"Have either of you seen Emora?" I asked, getting strait to the point.

They both shook their head. "We haven't heard anyone in your room since you left."

I furrowed my eyebrows. That can't be right, Emora usually is back at the dorm by the time I get home every day.

"Well, I think I'm going to go find her." I said, backing away.

Astrid and Kaylee nodded understandingly and waved goodbye. I turned back towards my dorm room and dropped my stuff off before making my way back downstairs.

I called Emora once and she didn't answer, so I then called five more times, only to get the same result.

The horrid thought of her being taken advantage of right now sent a fearful shudder down my body. After calling her six more times with no avail, I decided I would pay Lance a little visit. I could only pray that he wasn't hurting my roommate.

Lance lived in the dormitory across the street from mine, so it wasn't a far walk. I shoved my hands in my hoodie pockets and shivered in the cold air. It was Christmas season, and Christmas break would be soon but I wouldn't be returning home. My parents were both addicts that always fought and I wanted to be as far away from them as possible. I wasn't going to let their ruined lives ruin mine.

Once I reached Lance's dorm I made my way up to the second floor, vaguely remembering what room he stayed in from what Emora told me when they first started dating. When I opened the door that led to his hallway I instantly was met by the sound of talking and loud laughter. I made my way to Lance's room and knocked twice.

I waited for a few moments but got no response so I raised my fist to knock again. Just as I did, the door slammed open.

It was Chance.

"What?" He snapped, looking annoyed, but his expression immediately softened when he saw it was me.

"Where's Lance?" I asked.

A sly grin spread on Chance's face and he leaned on the door frame. "Who wants to know?"

I rolled my eyes and looked around him, noticing that there were two other people in the room. I easily recognized one of them as Lance and another as Jacob.

"Let me in Chance, I need to talk to Lance." I almost chuckled as I said that because their names rhymed and it sounded stupid but I held it together while mustering an intimidating glare.

"Why don't you make me sweet cheeks?" Chance flirted.

I didn't have time to deal with him. It was getting late and I was getting tired so I put both of my hands on his chest and pushed as hard as I could, successfully causing him to stumble back.

I took this to my advantage and slid past him, making my way to one of the beds in the room where Lance sat. It was at that moment that I realized there was another person here sitting besides Lance. It was none other then my roommate.
