Chapter 43

Clarke's POV

~flashback~

„I have no idea what to get for Lexa." I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair while Raven was trying to calm me down.
„Chill out. You still have time for it." Raven said as she ate her salad.
„I know but it doesn't change the fact that I don't know what is the perfect gift for her." I frowned at Raven totally ignoring what I just said.
„Raven!"
„What?" She raised her eyebrows.
„You're not helping."
„Let's wait for Octavia nd Harper. Maybe they will come up with something." She shrugged not taking eyes of her food.

„Took you long enough." Raven said as Octavia and Harper approached us with shopping bags full of clothes.
Octavia gave Raven childish look and sat down.
„We need your help."
„What is it?" Harper asked.
„Clarke is stressing out about what to get for Lexa as a gift." Raven placed her head on her hand as a support while she pointed at me.

„What does she like?" Harper asked again.
„Well she likes basketball and sport in general. But I don't want to buy her a basket ball or boxing gloves-"
„Wait! Lexa can freaking box?!" Octavia joined the conversation.
„Yeah." I said awkwardly as I blushed a bit.
„Okay okay let's save this for another time." Raven stopped Octavia when she saw her she was about to say something again.

„Does she play any musical instrument?" I got another question from Harper. It felt like she was the only one who actually cared about it.
„I don't know. I don't think so."
„Let's get her one!" She exclaimed.
„Uhh I think she said Lexa DOESN'T play any musical instrument." Raven looked at her confused.
„Let's get her a guitar perhaps so she can learn." Harper looked at all of us with smile.
„That's...a great idea actually. Thank you Harper seriously." I smiled at her.
„No problem." She smiled back.

We entered the nearest music shop after a long and complicated searching with google maps and gps.

„They're so expensive." Octavia said while she was looking at guitars.
„I like this one." I pointed at the beautiful black guitar with infinity symbol on it.
„199 dollars." Raven looked at me kinda worried that Im actually going to buy it.
„I know but it's worth it. I mean just look at it." I said as my sight fell back on the guitar where I could see my reflection on.
„Well are you sure you want to buy this one?" Harper placed her hand on my shoulder from behind me. I nodded and smiled.

„Can I help you?" The shop assistant came towards us with smile.
„Yes. We would like to buy this guitar right here." Harper said instead of me.
„Sure." The man smiled at her but turned around in a second after.
„Oh hi Harper. I didn't even recognize you."
„Hello Mr. Green." She smiled back. Turns out it was Monty's dad. I had no idea he worked here.

„So it's gonna be 199 dollars but I can give you a 30 dollars discount Clarke." Mr. Green smiled at me.
„That would be awesome. Thank you I really appreciate it." I smiled too while I was looking for my credit card.

„Here you go." He handed me a box with the guitar inside of it carefully.
„Thank you." I said and Octavia and Raven took the box so I could put my purse in my bag again.
„Have a nice day girls."
„Have a nice day too. Say hi to Monty for us." Octavia told him as we were leaving.

„I can't believe I did this." I placed my hand on my forehead the second I stepped outside.
„Don't tell me you regret it." Raven gave me the look.
„No I don't- I mean...it was expensive for sure but I love Lexa. I know she'll like this." I smiled.

Lexa's POV

We drove about an hour to get to the place where we were supposed to get our dog. When we got there we parked in front of a small house with big back yard.

„I can hear barking!" Aden said as he left the car and looked through the fence where he could see small huskies.
„Wait up!" I yelled and ran after him.

We rang the bell and not even a minute later older lady opened the fence for us with smile. The second we walked in all of the little puppies jumped on our knees.

„Hello kids." The lady smiled at me and Aden.
„Hello. Im Lexa and this is Aden." I shook her hand and smiled back.
„My name is Nancy. Nice to meet you."
„Nice to meet you too."

„So which one would you like to take home?" She looked at the puppies.
„Which one do you like Aden?"
„Hmm...I like that one!" He pointed at the smallest puppy out of all of them who wasn't as strong as other puppies. It had black marks around his eyes which looked like some kind of war paint and beautiful blue eyes.
„Oh are you sure? That one is the weakest and smallest out all of them." Nancy gave us worried look.
„Yes Im sure." He smiled and Nancy nodded. She went to pick up the puppy.

„What is going to be his name?" She asked.
„Clarke will pick the name." Aden said and Nancy didn't understand who was Clarke.
„My girlfriend." Awkward smile appeared on my face.
„Well I hope she will like him." She smiled and walked towards her house.
She gave us a leash and a collar for him.

„Thank you once again." I said when we were leaving.
„My pleasure." She smiled at Aden who was holding the puppy in his arms while it was licking his face.
„It was nice to meet you."
„It was nice to meet you too. Have a nice day!" She waved at us while I started the car.
„Have a nice day too." I smiled and drove away.

On the way home te puppy fell asleep so it wasn'r as crazy ride as Aden and I expected.
We got home about an hour later.
Aden opened the door for me while I was holding asleep puppy in my arms.

„Hey Anya." I said when I walked inside.
„Oh my god it's so cute!" She immediately had heart eyes for that dog.
„Aden picked him." I smiled.
„I still need to buy some thing for him that Clarke will need." I said as I gave him to Anya because he was still fast asleep.
„Well you can go now. I will take care of him."
„You could give him a bath perhaps?" I asked as I took my keys again.
„Yeah." She scrunched her nose as she smelled his fur.
Chuckle escaped my mouth when I left the house again.

I bought everything he needs. Food, place to sleep, some toys and bowls. Now I just have to survive the night with him.

When I arrived home it was crazy. Aden and Anya were running around the house with puppy chasing them.
„Woah what is going on?" I smiled.
„He's gonna catch me!" Aden laughed out loud as it was running after him.
I shook my head and ran up to my bedroom.

I went to shower and changed to sweat pants and hoodie after. By the time I got downstairs all three of them were asleep on the couch. I joined them. The puppy noticed I sat down and raised it's ears. He jumped over Anya's legs and cuddled up to me.
I smiled at him and stroked his back as he slowly fell asleep again.
