Chapter 52

Clarke's POV

Lexa and I laid on my bed while watching a movie. My arms were wrapped around her waist with my head on her chest. She held me tight like somebody was about to steal me from her any minute.

From the first few minutes of the movie I couldn't really focus on anything that was happening. Thankfully Lexa didn't notice and it seemed like she was enjoying the movie so I didn't wanna bring it up.

But still I couldn't help but wonder, who was that driver that hit her that night? My mind was racing.

„Clarke?" Lexa's soft voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
„Yeah?"
„Were you even paying attention?"
„Im sorry."
„I was asking how did you like it?"
„It was great, yeah." I nodded.

No sound from Lexa. I faced her and by seeing her raised eyebrows I knew for sure she didn't believe me.

„Come on. What were you thinking about?" She asked.
„I don't wanna bring it up." My eyes fell on my hands as I was playing with my fingers nervously.
„You can tell me anything you know." Lexa lifted my head up with her finger on my chin so I would look into her magical green eyes.

„It's just....we never really spoke about the accident after it happened."
„Why would you wanna talk about it?" She was confused.
„Who is that person that hit you?"
„I don't know I've never seen their face." She shrugged.
„Exactly."
„What do you mean?"
„That person is running around somewhere without facing the consequences. They could've killed you." I got frustrated.
„But they didn't." Lexa was facing the wall in front of her without looking at me. I could feel she was kinda mad that I brought it up but she wanted me to.
„But it was close! We have to get them. They need to pay for what they did."

„Clarke it's been months since it happened. Do you really think somebody is gonna investigate some kind of car accident that happens literally every day?" She looked at me with calm voice but frowned eyebrows.
„So you don't care?" I shook my head.
„What?"

„Think about this. If somebody hit the person you love with a car while you are home just chilling and talking with your mom when suddenly she gets a call that your person got hit by a car and might not make it, what would you do?
If you were sitting beside their bed 24/7 squeezing their hand and waiting for some kind of response that never comes and just crying until you almost lose your breath, what would you do?" I started to raise my voice a little but not in a bad way and tears started to form in my eyes.

„If you got told every single day that there is a small chance of them actually waking up, what would you do?" At this point I was just looking at Lexa while tears were streaming down my cheeks. She was looking at me in shock with her lips slightly parted.

„What would you do?" No response.
„You never told me about tha-"
„Answer me!" I cut her off.
She was silent. She knew I was right. And she knew that she would find the person who did that and make them pay.

She knew I was right.

„So will you please help me find the person who did that?" I asked with shaky voice.
She was still silent looking at the wall. I sighed knowing that I won't get a response.

„Okay." Just when I was about to open the door and walk out of the room she spoke.
„We will find them." I slowly turned around and looked at her.

Lexa stood up and walked over to me. She opened her arms for me so I could hug her. I wrapped my arms around her immediately and she pulled me closer. Her chin was on the top of my head while my face was burried in her chest. Her hoodie is gonna get wet from the tears but Lexa really couldn't care less at the moment.

We pulled away. She took my head in her soft hands and looked me in the eyes.
„I love you, okay?" She gave me small smile.
I nodded as I sobbed. She wiped away my tears with her thumbs before pulling me back into the hug with giving me a kiss in my hair.

„I know you do."

Shorter chapter but its kinda the start to these next chapters. I didnmt read it again so dont care about the mistakes Anywayss enjoyy
