Chapter 41

Jax was riding along the highway on the way back from Georgie's studio when fire trucks passed him. Be noticed that they took the exit for his neighborhood. Fearing the worst, he cranked the throttle a little harder and followed the trucks. The closer he got to his house, he saw more and more fire trucks. He saw an ambulance. She saw people standing around everywhere but he didn't see Tinsley, Willow, or Abel. Dread built in his stomach with every inch of road that took him closer to his house. All he could think about was Tinsley and Abel. We're they ok?

He skidded to a stop three houses down from his. It was as close as he could get. He snatched off his helmet and took off in a run for for his house. When he got there, there wasn't anything left of the house to be saved. Just a few lone beams stood where his house used to be. He frantically searched the faces in the neighborhood. He saw willows car and the Tahoe in the driveway. Both were burned beyond repair. Jax stopped one of the firefighters that walked past him.

"Did everyone get out safe"? He asked

"I'm not sure" said the firefighter.

"My wife and child were in that house. I need to know do they got out of there. Either you can tell me or I'll go look my damn self" said Jax.

"Sir, I'm not sure if anyone was inside when the fire started." Said the firefighter

"I'm telling you they were inside and her friend was with her." Said Jax as he stepped towards the man.

"Sir, you need to stand back." Said the firefighter.

"My goddamn pregnant wife and my child were in that pile of ashes. I don't give a flying fuck about the house or you. I need to know they are safe." Said Jax as he stepped even closer to the firefighter.

"Jax!"

Jax turned at the sound of his name and saw Willow running towards him. Thanks gog she was ok. That meant Tinsley and Abel had to be too. Jax ran and met her half way.

"Where's Tinsley and Abel?" Said Jax.

"They are back here" said Willow as he led him to the ambulance parked at the neighbors house.

"Are they ok" asked Jax.

"They are fine. The EMT's just wanted to check them out. I'm so sorry Jax. I went to get us food. She was home by herself with Abel." Said Willow.

"This isn't your fault. I wish y'all would have had it delivered but that's not important now" said Jax.

He made it to the ambulance and climbed inside

"Sir, you can the in here" said the EMT.

"Bullshit I can't. That's my wife" said Jax.

"In that case have a seat" said the EMT.

Jax walked over to the stretcher Tinsley was sitting on and kissed her and grabbed Abel from her. He hugged both of them to him with rough force to have strangled a grizzly bear. He couldn't hug them tight enough.

"Are you ok?" Jax asked.

"EMT seems to think we're both fine. She had the babies should be too" said Tinsley.

"What happened?" Asked Jax.

She just looked at him and wound answer. She didn't know if she should discuss what happened in front of the EMT for not so she just stayed quiet. Jax seemed to catch on and let it drop.

"Looks like you all are free to do" said the EMT.

Jax helped Tinsley sit up and he helped her climb out of the back of the ambulance.

"Oh my god Jax" said Tinsley when she saw what remained of the house.

"It's just a house. It's just things. Both of which can be replaced. You and Abel, you cant be replaced. As long as you two are safe, I don't give a fuck about the house. We can find a new one." Said Jax.

"I know. But I really loved this house and I really loved that car." Said Tinsley as a single tear escaped.

"Don't cry baby. I loved this house and that car too. But guess what. We will find a house that is perfect for both of us. That house will be full of memories you and I and the kids. As far as a car, we will find you something else. I promise ." Said Jax.

"I know. I'm just all up in my feelings at the moment.." Said Tinsley.

"I know" said Jax as he pulled her to him.

They walked a little further until they reached the bench at the park in their little neighborhood. They both sat down.

"What happened" asked Jax.

"Me and Willow decided we wanted some king pow chicken and sparking grape juice. I called the order in and she went to get pick it up. While I waited, I started some laundry and went back to the living room to pick up Abel's toys. As I was cleaning. I heard a car pull up out front. I looked though the peephole to see who it was. It looked like the same car from the club house Jax. The one that Zobelle got out of. Anyway, I grabbed Abel and went upstairs to get my pistol. When I looked out from upstairs, the car was gone but just to be safe, I hid in the broom closet. That's when when I smelled smoke. I tucked Abel's face into my chest and ran out the door just as Tinsley was walking up to it. When we got outside, the roof collapsed." Explained Tinsley.

"Was the dryer running?" Asked Jax.

"No, just the washer. The smoke was thickest in the par of the house that wasn't near thr laundry room. It could t have been either of those that caused this" said Tinsley.

"Did you happen to see either of the guys faces?" Asked Jax.

"One of them. He looked like he had some kind of tattoo or chunky necklace." Said Tinsley.

"We need to tell the club this" said Jax.

"Fine, I can do that" said Tinsley.

"Let me call chibs. I'll have him bring the van over. You can ride in the back and with Abel where you won't be seen since se don't have a seat for him " said Jax.

"Ok" said Tinsley.

Willow walked up as Jax was talking to Chibs. She looked horrible. Tinsley was so thankful that Willow hadn't been in the house. She has asthma and there would have been no way that she could have dragged Willow and Abel out of that house before the roof had collapsed.

Chibs picked them up a few minutes after hangin up with Jax. They all loaded into the van and headed for the club house. When they arrived at the club house, Gemma snatched open the door of the van before Chibs had even put it in park. She climbed up inside and went straight for Jax, Tinsley, and Abel. She inspected each of them for herself to make sure nothing was wrong.

"We're fine ma" said Jax.

"Just making sure" said Gemma. She walked over to Willow to check on her too. Once Gemma was satisfied that everyone was okay, she let them out of the van and walked them to the club house. Jax carries Abel and pulled Tinsley to his side.

As they walked to the club house, Half Sack came running. He checked Willow over. Pulling her into his side, the followed the rest of the group into the club house. Tinsley sat down on the couch and propped her feet up. Willow say down here side her doing the same thing. Jax was sitting in one arm of the couch still holding Abel while half sack was on the other rest.

Gemma brought the guys beers and the girl hot chocolate. Usually Half Sack would have been the gopher but Gemma felt as if he deserved this one. She could tell Willow was pregnant but they hadnt announced it.

"When I'm dont with this beer, wrangle up thr guys and have them meet me in the chapel" said Jax to Half Sack.

"Will do" said Half sack.

Jax finished his beer and headed for the chapel. Half Sack had wrangles most of the guys but they were waiting on Clay and Bobby to get back from Stockton. They had been to see Otto.

They all settled in and within five minutes, Clay and Bobby came in. The chapel doors shut .
