As the planet of Jakku becomes nothing more than a dot, you sink back into your plush seat on the spaceship.

The spaceship you're on must be a deluxe or something. The seats are all velvety and the windows are huge.

The sky outside is inky black and filled with stars and planets whizzing by.

Luke walks up to the front of the ship. He pulls aside the door and leans in. You peak under his outstretched arm.

There appears to be a person sitting in the pilots chair. They have blue ears peeking out from a mane of curly, untamed brown hair.

"Hit the hyperdrive." Luke says to the pilot. They nod and push a lever forward and you feel the ship lurch.

You gasp out loud and clutch at Reys shirt.

She turns to you as well and her eyes mirror yours; fascination and fear.

Luke sits back down across from the two of you.

You peer out the window behind you and see a rush of blue streaks flying past.

"Where are we?" You ask Luke.

"We're in lightspeed. It's what gets us across the galaxy as fast as we do."

"Oh." Is all you say. You turn around again and are mesmerized by the flying buts of light.

"I'm not used to this whole flying thing." Rey groans beside you. She looks a little green in the face.

Luke chuckles.

"Yes, it takes a while to get used to."

Rey moans again and hangs her head in her hands.

After a couple minutes of silence Luke speaks up.

"Ah. Here's us." He gestures out the window as your ship exits lightspeed.

A planet quickly comes into view, smaller at first but gradually getting bigger.

You watch as your ship comes to a smooth stop. The landing gears come down with a thud and your ship jostles.

The ramp falls slowly and you stand excitedly at the entrance.

As soon as the metal scrapes the concrete, your bounding down it.

Behind the ship is a huge jungle. So much green.

In front of you is a huge temple. There's sparring grounds outside of it, close to the docking bay. There's a hangar to the right of the temple and to the left are cliffs. The cliffs lead to crystal blue water.

You gasp. It's beautiful. The colors are more than what you dreamed of, compared to the multiple shades of brown on Jakku.

Rey takes a step off the ramp, shielding her eyes from the sun.

It's warm and moist here, nothing compared to the hot and dry temperatures of your home planet.

Luke walks swiftly past the two of you, stopping to shake hands with a tall Cerean. He has a head full of dark red hair that hangs down to his waist.

At the entrance of the temple Luke glances back at you and Rey.

"Well are you coming or not?" He calls.

You both quickly run after him. He ascends a large staircase and you follow suite.

Up, you go, one, two, three flights of stairs.

"This temple is huge." You mutter out loud.

"Indeed." Luke says. "This temple is thousands of years old. Before the war, it was home to many Jedi younglings. But Darth Vader emptied it of any life. After the war, I sought to bring the Jedi back. There can be no balance without them."

Luke turns down a hallway.

Doors are flung open and you peer inside.

Kids your age lounge on their beds reading or watching holograms. Some manipulate chairs, books, and even a whole desk to float through the air.

"Here we are." Luke stops in front of a closed door. "Astrid this is your room. And right across from it is Reys."

You open the dolor slowly. Inside sits a double bed pushed up against the far wall. Above it is a window slit, like the ones in your old AT-AT except bigger and taller. A dresser and a desk are on the left wall, leaving the right one blank.

"The right side of the wall is for you to decorate. Whatever you want to put on it, we will find for you." Luke says, kind of sheepishly.

"Thank you." You whisper.

Rey is in the same kind of trance. You both have never had your own rooms.

...sleepovers

You tilt your head.

Luke notices.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I just thought I heard...." you trail off, trying to to sound crazy.

Luke smiles at you.

"That reminds me." He says. "Tomorrow, you and Rey start your Jedi training."

You stiffen.

"You have nothing to worry about my padawan." Luke chuckles.

You relax slightly.

"Now, I believe I have some business to attend to. I'll leave you girls to get yourselves settled in. A few children will be up to help you make your bed." Luke walks away quickly, his robes swirling around him like a cape. As he passes by rooms, kids perk up and watch him descend the staircases.

Once Luke is gone, you realize how much harder this is going to be.

Your only allies are Rey and Luke and one of them just left you.

"Astrid. This place... it's ancient. I can feel it. Can you?" Rey is still in awe at how big this place is.

You're not really sure what you feel. A serpent in your stomach has awoken and you can feel it sliding around. A nagging at the back of your head keeps you from being able to think properly.

You decide against telling Rey this.

"I can feel it too." You might as well play along with her story.

As you finish your sentence, a group of kids comes scampering up the stairs.

In their arms they hold sheets, blankets, and pillows.

They stop at you and Reys door and split up.

"Hello!" One of them pipes up.

You identify the voice.

It's a young girl, probably no older than ten. She has blue skin and pointy ears like the pilot of the ship you flew in.

"I'm Y'queel. What's your name?"

"I'm Astrid. It's a pleasure to meet you... Y'queel?" You test out her name. It's foreign on your tongue. You stretch out your hand for a shake.

Y'queel laughs and excepts your outstretched hand.

The kids quickly busy themselves with setting up your bed and then leave just as quickly as they came.

Rey has shut herself in her new room, probably trying to get a grip on her surroundings.

You close your door and decide to do the same.

The voice at the back of your head speaks up.

Welcome home. Is all it says.
