Kylo returns the next day with food.

He places the tray on the table next to your chair and unlocks your restraints.

"Follow me. And bring the tray." He says, his mask on again. You wish he would take it off.

Kylo walks out the door quickly his cape swishing.

You follow him after grabbing the tray.

Kylo turns down multiple corridors until you arrive at a door.

He steps into the room as the door opens.

It's automatic, retracting left and right.

You step into the room after Kylo and the door snaps shut behind you.

You shiver, suddenly realizing it's just the two of you in the room.

Kylo flicks his fingers and a lamp turns on.

It illuminates the whole room which is fairly small. Nothing like your room on Yavin 4.

You fight back tears.

Kylo takes of his helmet and places it beside the lamp on the bedside table.

"This is where you'll be staying while your with us."

You shudder at the word us.

"How long will I be here?" You ask Kylo, wrapping your arms around yourself. It's freezing on whatever base you're at.

"Forever. Your place is here with me Astrid. As my apprentice. As my l-" Kylo cuts himself off.

"As your what?"

"Nothing." Kylo snips at you. He grabs his mask off the bedside table, securing it back on his face.

You sigh.

"I'll be here to pick you up tomorrow morning for your first day of training. There's a small bathroom connected to your room and there's clothes in there." Without another word, Kylo turns on his heel and stalks out of your new room.

As soon as he leaves you begin to cry.

You can't help it.

In the past week you've been given the chance at a new life, had it taken away by being kidnapped, forced to starve, and now this man orders you to enjoy your stay on this freezing cold base.

You miss Jakku. You miss Yavin 4. Most of all, you miss Rey.

*Kylo's POV*

As soon as I leave the room, Astrid begins to cry.

I want nothing more than to run in there again and hold her.

I shake my head at the thought.

Astrid means nothing me. That's what I tell myself all the way to Snoke's room.

By the time I get there, I've almost convinced myself.

On the Starkiller Base, there's a huge auditorium for Snoke. I personally designed it.

At the front door entrance stand two guards. They're dressed in all red.

I ignore them and walk straight through the double doors to my master.

He's already waiting for me, his bony hands gripping the holographic chair he sits in.

"Hello Ren. How is it coming along with the girl?" Snoke asks, his deep voice resonating throughout the whole room.

"It's going fine Master." I say, kneeling. "She will soon feel the allure of the dark side."

"Very good Ren. It will be your job to teach her the ways of the Sith." Snoke says leaning forward.

"Yes Master."

"Now go. I must think." Snoke leans back, stroking his chin in thought.

I do as he tells me, heading for my room.

It's not far from Astrids. I want to go and check on her but that would be weird.

I'm nothing more than a monster to her.

Well, maybe not. She wouldn't tell me to my face, just to my mask.

My mask.

I hate that stupid thing, but Snoke insists on me wearing it. He says it keeps me hidden, but all it does is make me a creature of the night. The leader of the Knights of Ren.

Without the mask I could be anyone. Without the mask, I could even be Ben again.

I push the thought away quickly.

I will not be tempted by the light. I've killed millions, I am purely dark.

I return to my room and take of my mask, hearing the comforting hiss.

I run a hand through my hair. I could use a shower, but tomorrow I need to be up early. I'm training with Astrid.

I sigh, get into black sweatpants and a sweater and slide into my bed.

The sheets are silky as are the pillowcases.

I close my eyes. Dancing behind my eyelids is Astrid. Her perfect hair, her perfect skin, her perfect attitude.

I can't believe that I'm falling. Whether for the light or for her, it's not good.

I let out a hiss.

"I am not falling." I say to myself.

I know it's a lie.

*Astrid's POV*

You slid into bed, thoroughly tired after your cry.

Your eyes slip closed and Kylo appears behind your eyelids.

You grit your teeth.

You can't believe your falling. For the dark side or for him.

You can't believe any of it.

"I'm not falling." You say to your new room.

You know it's a lie.
