Whatever stun gun Mom shot at Poe and I, it's a real killer.

When I come to, I'm lying on a couch. I open my eyes and sit up quickly. I glance around and catch sight of Lula. Her eyes widen to see me up.

"Wren!" She says.

"Where's Poe?" I ask her. Lula points out the window to a number of transport ships heading towards a far planet.

"We left the main ship. We're heading to the mineral planet of Crait right now. There's an old Rebel Allince base on it."

"But...the transport ships? They're unshielded." I say. Lula sits down next to me and draws her dark red hair to the side.

"General Organa said they're not tracking small ships. That, if we left, the First Order wouldn't even know we were gone."

"That's...smart." I say. "Was that Holdo's plan?"

Lula nods. "General was very sorry that Holdo was not as open with use as she usually is. She said, and I quote, "She was more interested in protecting the light than she was seeming like a hero.""

I hang my head. "What I did....I acted disgracefully."

Lula places a hand on my shoulder.

"No one blames you. If anything, we all acted disgracefully. But General Organa isn't going to punish us. She understands where we are coming from."

I sigh and push a few strands of hair away from my face.

"Why weren't Poe and I put together? On the same transport I mean?"

Lula shrugs. "I'm not sure. I think it's because they couldn't fit two stretchers on one ship. But trust me, General Organa knew you were going to be angry when you woke up."

I let out a low laugh.

"I'm not angry. Just...nervous."

"Don't be. We're safe Wren. I promise."

The words have barely even left Lula's mouth when a transport ship right beside ours explodes.

It's a burst of green sparks and red fire.

I let out a scream.

Everyone onboard our transport rushes to the windows. They all stare disbelievingly as another blast from Snoke's ship fires.

It hits another transport.

"Poe." I whisper. "Don't be dead."

I stand up and push my way through the crowd to the cockpit.

"Are we going as fast as we can?" I ask the pilots.

"Yes Ms. Solo." One says. The other presses a button on the dashboard. A holocom of Holdo pops up.

"Admiral, we're taking fire! Do we turn around?" The pilot asks.

Holdo shakes her head quickly. There's obvious worry in her eyes. "No, you're too far out! Full speed to planetfall. Full speed!" She says. The holocom glitches and our connection is cut off.

I sigh and glance out the window. Transports are being destroyed one by one. Every time, I flinch. I'm hoping, praying, that Poe is all right.

"Wren?" Lula pops into the cockpit. "You might want to come see this." She says. I follow her to the window.

In the distance, the main cruiser is spinning around.

"She's running away?" I say incredulously.

Lula shakes her head. "No. She's jumping to lightspeed."

My eyes widen as I understand.

"What will that do?" I ask. "To Holdo and the First Order?"

"Save us." Lula replies shortly.

Everyone in the transport watches as the main cruiser jumps to lightspeed. Everyone single First Order ship is cut in two.

There's a prolonged explosion and debris is thrown everywhere. It looks like an explosion of glitter and metal.

The transport is filled with cheers as people hug each other. Many sit in the corners crying.

I glance out the window again. One, two, three, four, five.

"There's six transports left." I whisper. "Six transports left. What are we going to do?" I ask Lula.

She shrugs. "I'm not sure. We have to wait until we get to Crait."

The final leg of the trip felt longer than it was. I was dreading landing and finding out that Poe was dead. That he did not make it.

I shove my way through the crowd, elbowing people when they don't get the idea.

Eventually, I get to the middle of the base that we're in. It's heavily armored with a humongous door. It seems to be the only way in or out. Which, in my opinion, isn't very smart.

I stand in the middle of the crowd, scanning for his face. I don't see him. He's not here. The First Order killed him.

Tears fill my eyes, and I turn back to Lula's direction, only to be stopped in my tracks.

He's there. He's in front of me. He's there.

I start running and we collide with each other like we did after the battle of Starkiller.

I hold onto him for dear life and let my happy tears flow. Poe's pressing me so tightly against him, we're probably the same person now.

"I-I thought you were dead." I say. I glance up and see tears in Poe's eyes.

I cup his cheek and he leans into my touch. Using my thumb, I brush away any drops that slide down his cheek.

"It's ok. We're both here. We're both together. This is ok. We're ok." I whisper to him quietly.

Poe nods and I lean up to kiss him.

It's a soft kiss, one meant to convey comfort and protection. And in this moment, I couldn't care less that the whole Resistance is surrounding us.

All there is is Poe, and Poe alone.
