The First Date

Tova, Yoshino and Shikamaru was in the young girl room helping her get ready for her date. Kakashi called letting her know he was back in the village and to see if she wanted to still go on their date. Yoshino gave a girlish squeal once she was done with Tova hair, "You are so cute! I can't wait to see Kakashi face." Yoshino gushed as she admired the final touches. "Thank you mother." Tova smiled as she held Shikamaru who was enjoying an ice sickle since he was teething. Yoshino gave her daughter a hug with tears flowing down her face, "Oh, my baby is growing up. Than she will be out the nest, married to Kakashi than i'll become a grandmother!" Yoshino weald dramatically. Tova gave her mother an embarrassing look, "Oh mom." She said with a smile Shikamaru only watching his mother while enjoying the icee treat. A knock was heard on the door and both women eyes widen, one with happiness the other with nerves, "Oh! He's here! Come on let's put on your shoes." Yoshino said as she ran around her daughter room. Tova took a deep breath while looking at herself in the mirror, "This is it, you got this." She whispered. Shikamaru smiled at her making her smile back, "You're right little brother. Nothing to be nervous about." She gave Shikamaru a hug before putting down to finish getting ready.

Kakashi stood by the door waiting for someone to answer, he fixed his shirt with nervousness while holding flowers for his date. The door was opened by Shikaku who looked very uninterested while holding baby Shikamaru who was also eyeing the young man, "Hello Mr. Nara. I'm here for Tova." Kakashi calmly said. Shikaku nod his head allowing Kakashi inside. "Come on in Kakashi." Shikaku lazily said, "Thank you." Kakashi walked in looking around the clan leader home, he must say he was very impress, "Nice flowers." Shikaku commented as he took a seat gesturing for Kakashi to take one as well, "The girls should be done very soon." He finished. Kakashi sat down nodding his head, "I'm in no rush. And I figured Tova would enjoy them...the flowers." Kakashi sigh to himself for acting like a scared child, but he was talking to one of the Leaf smartest Shinobi and he's taking his daughter out for a date, no pressure.

Shikamaru looked at the new person as he gummed down his ice, "So Kakashi, where do you plan on taking Tova tonight?" Shikaku asked as he bounced Shikamaru on his lap, "To a Ramen vendor. I think Guy, Asuma and Kurenai may join later but i'm not sure." Kakashi answered. Shikaku nod his head, "Kakashi let me ask one last question." Shikaku stared. The younger man nod his head, "I'm sure you know Tova is very special to this family. She's my daughter and i'm allowing you to make sure she's safe, both of us know she can take care of herself but thats not what i'm talking about." Shikaku sternly stared at Kakashi eye making sure Kakashi get the message loud and clear, "If you hurt her again, if she comes to me telling me anything happens that she didn't approve of, I won't hesitate to break your neck do you understand." Shikaku firmly said. Kakashi tried not to laugh as the threat was coming from someone bouncing a laughing baby on their lap, but Kakashi was a smart young man and knew not to push his luck. "Of course Shikaku. You have my word that Tova will be in good hands." Kakashi eyed the man in front of him wanting him to understand that Tova was safe with him.

Shikaku nod his head, "Ok, glad we have an understanding." Shikaku went back to his famous lazy demeanor allowing Kakashi to take a breather. The two heard foot steps approaching them, Yoshino smiling greeting Kakashi with a hug and taking Shikamaru from his father. "Hello Kakashi, those are beautiful flowers." She said before kissing her baby, Kakashi smiled pulling to her in thanks. His attention was stolen by Tova who smiled at him, "Hi Kakashi." She said as she fumbled with her bag, Kakashi shook his head when Shikamaru let out a squeal to him. "Hi Tova, these are for you." He said handing her the flowers. Tova blushed taking them, "Thank you. They are beautiful." She smelled the flowers than smiling at him, "I'll take those dear and put them in water. Now go on, the night is young don't want to waste time with us right." Yoshino said as she pushed the young folks out the door, "Have fun and be safe." She said to Tova while kissing her forehead. "I will mother, bye father, bye Shikamaru." Tova kissed her little brother. "Be safe Tova. Take care Kakashi." Shikaku said as he stood beside his wife and son watching the two leave.
