She Awaken

Shikaku finally made it home already smelling the home cook meal that his fiancé was making for him. "You smell that. Seems like some good food is on the menu." Shikaku said to the sleeping child. With more pep to his step he made it to the door, "Honey i'm home!" He lazily shouted taking off his shoes. Yoshino smiled hearing her fiancé voice, "Welcome back Shi-" Yoshino paused seeing the child in Shikaku vest, "Who is this?" She asked as Shikaku laid the child on the sofa, "She's the child that Inoichi, Choza and I found." Shikaku begin explaining everything that happened to his love. Yoshino nod her head as she listened, while also cleaning up the young child wounds. She couldn't believe that a young child is still alive with wounds like she was cleaning, she had her experience cleaning Ninja wounds especially Shikaku, Inoichi, and Choza wounds but these were just a little different.

As Shikaku was finishing his story, the young child let out a groan as her eyes fluttered open looking around in confusion. The young girl eyed the two people while blinking slowly, Shikaku and Yoshino eyed the young girl as well, both parties silent. "Hey." Shikaku lamely said earring a shove from Yoshino. The young child eyed him, Yoshino smiled at her, "Don't be scared, your in the Hidden Leaf Village. Do you remember what happened?" She asked softly. The child stared at the ceiling thinking about what the two strangers were asking. Soon visions of what happened begin to run through her head, the Sound Village some how found her village. She remember the man that was leading the attack, he was pale with long black hair, eyes like a snake with a smile to match.

The young girl eyes watered remembering her parents, her friends, people that she say hi to everyday was now gone. She tried to stop the weird snake ninja but he was too strong and powerful, they used sound waves to take down her entire village. Never before has she felt so alone, the young girl jumped when the man leaned down, "Hey, it's ok. Don't think about it, you're safe here ok." Shikaku reassured. The young girl eyed him with mistrust along with the woman beside him, "Can you tell us your name?" He then asked. The girl looked between the two, she let out a quiet sigh while looking down at her bandage arms and legs. She then looked up to the young man that was giving her a small smile, the two eyed one another like something was passing between them. The young girl felt her body and spirit calm, something about him made her trust him, his calmness spoke to her, he called to her in a way she never experienced before.

Taking a small breath she answered, "Tova. My name is Tova." She said while looking at her bandage hands. Shikaku and Yoshino looked at one another, "Hello Tova. I'm Yoshino, this is my Fiancé Shikaku. He and his team found you and brought you here." Yoshino explained once again. Tova looked at her then at Shikaku, "Are you hungry? We have dinner waiting for us if you are?" Shikaku said. Tova stomach let out a roar causing the young girl to blush with embarrassment, Yoshino stood up with determination, "Then it's settle let's eat!" She shouted as she raced back into the kitchen. Shikaku shook his head at his fiancé, "That woman." He then turned to the young girl who continue to eye him, getting caught she quickly looked back down to her lap.

"Hey, don't worry. You're welcome to stay here, for as long as you want." Shikaku reassured. Tova looked back at him, "How about we worry about this tomorrow. For now let's get you something to eat, I think if the wind blow you might fly away." Shikaku joked. He smiled when he saw he made her smile, even if it was barely visible. Tova sat up slowly with the help of Shikaku, the two made it to the table where Yoshino was laying out a spread for them. Tova eyed the food before lifting her fork to stab the food, she ate small bites closing her eyes at the taste. Shikaku and Yoshino watched her face hoping she enjoyed it, "Yoshino is the best cook in all the Leaf, sometime I don't know how I survive on missions." Shikaku bragged while taking a huge bite of food. Yoshino felt herself blush at the compliment, "Thank you honey." She said while eating.

Tova nod her head in agreement, still it wasn't her own mother cooking. Thinking about her mother Tova paused with her fork in her mouth, tears filled her eyes as she continued to eat. The tears didn't stop as she continue to eat, Shikaku and Yoshino watched not knowing what to do. Yoshion put her hand over the young girl, "It will get better dear. You will never forget what happened, but it will get better." She gently said. Tova didn't see how things would get better at the moment, it was hard to to cope with what happened to her village. 

Shikaku let out a sigh, "She's right you know, I know you can't see it now. The hurt do get easier, trust me. I lost a lot of friends but we must move on and continue to live for them. Get stronger, get smarter than ever before." He said to the young girl. Tova nod her head while wiping her eyes, "Thank you." She quietly told them. The young couple nod their heads, "Of course, like he said. You are welcome here Tova." Yoshino rub her hands in comfort. Tova felt another wave of tears entering her eyes as she stared at the two people that did so much for her in such a short amount of time.

She looked to Shikaku who she felt a connection with, he nod his head with a smile backing up what his love has said. Tova smiled back at both of them, "Thank you." She said with a more cheerful smile. Shikaku laugh going back to eat, "So tomorrow we are going down to get you register to be a citizen of the Leaf. How does that sound?" He asked. Tova nod her head, "Ok." She simply stated. Yoshino and Shikaku shared a look, the young woman already know what was up his sleeves when it came to the young child. She wasn't a fool, she can see the connection between the two as clear as day. She even see when he held the young girl that she wasn't going anywhere. Yoshino did have her concerns at first, but she can after spending a short amount of time with they child that things will be fine with them. She was ready for the responsibility, as long as Shikaku was by her side, then everything would be ok.
