16 - Goodbye

Before the sun was set, Cole and Ricky was already near the exit as he already finished all his business.

After the talk at the Information Pavillion, Cole took Ricky and find the Treasure Store. It was the place the old man said where he can buy and also sell treasures and he sold all his stocks like the snake fang of Green Poison Snake and the like, but mostly only Tier 1 Beast important parts. Just like the old man said, Tier 2 Wild Beast can be considered rare in the Dark Forest. They were mostly those Beast with lucky encounters like the Mana Cherry Fruit.

The old man said that reaching Tier 2 Wild Beast stage can be considered lucky since the state of Heaven and Earth Energy in this place was so little. That was also why Mana Gathering Stage Cultivator was also rare in this place. It could be said that the Forest Edge Village was so safe here as even the City Lord of Towering Tree City was just at the peak of Body Tempering Stage.

Cole's various things was sold for a total of 30 gold coins. The Green Poison Serpent fangs and skin was the most expensive in his wares as it was from a peak Tier 2 Wild Beast, specially the snake skin.

The store manager of the Treasure Store said that the snake skin can be processed to a good armor which will make it priceless in the Towering Tree City while the snake fangs can be turn into daggers. Just both the snake skin and fangs sold for full 20 gold coins while the rest were just sold for only 10 gold coins.

Cole just nod satisfied as he can saw that the store manager was honest and didn't try to cheat him. He even trust the name in his heart.

After selling his wares, Cole and Ricky just walk through the city to pass the time and even bought some things that the both of them were interested.

So Cole and Ricky were now at the exit waiting for Richard and the village chief wearing new clothes. They even bought some for both Richard and Margaret, as well some for the villagers specially for the other kids. Winter is near and the childrens clothes was still so thin, some even have patches and holes in different places.

Minutes later, Ricky and the village chief arrived.

Cole can see that the wagons they have with them with different harvest before had now different things, mostly sacks of rice.

Cole nod in satisfaction. He can still remember that when he first arrived at Ricky's house, he was served a bowl of porridge with so little rice that he even suspected that he was just drinking some hot water with some salt.

"We can find some cheap inn and stay there for the night. Traveling is a little dangerous specially at night." Richard suggested to Cole.

Cole shakes his head and said, "Nope. We're going home tonight."

Richard just nod agreeing as well as the village chief.

They know how powerful Cole was, that Fernan, the bandit leader they were hopeless of, was even subjugated.

Cole and his party leaved the wall of the city and started travelling outside.

The guard even look at them as if they were crazy. Traveling at night when the beast was most active was just committing suicide. The guards just shake their heads in pity. They don't stop them as they saw that there were two adults with them. It's not like they don't know the dangers of traveling at night right?

After minutes of traveling and when Cole didn't saw any other person, he walks at the front of the wagons, face them and chant, "Gate!"

Both Richard and the village chief just look at him confused. Both of them didn't saw the distortion of the scenery in front of them as it was so dark, yet when they passed the gate, they were dumbfounded.
