The day went on, Daniel was looking at me every now and then giving me an annoyed look

"I'm gonna go get some water," I tell Jonah and go to the kitchen

I grabbed a cup and turned around to see Daniel

"You know your dad wants you home," He says

"Leave me alone Daniel, don't you have better things to do than bother me?" I asked

He just stood there looking annoyed, like always

"You can't deny your feelings for me"

I scoffed and turned to get water
"There aren't any" I mumble

Right? There isn't any, none at all

It was silent like I had said something I wasn't supposed to

"Seriously, after everything we've done? You don't feel anything?"

I turn and take a big sip of my water

"I told you from the beginning, your my brother, that is all we are, end of story," I say and go back to the living room

As I sat back down, Daniel came into the living room, took his phone and left

"What's up with him?" Asked Jonah
"I'm gonna go home too, I'll talk to him," I say

I stood up and went upstairs to grab my belongings

Time skip

I entered my room and sat on the bed tiredly

Out of nowhere, my dad came barging into my room

"Are you out of your mind?" He raised his voice

"Don't start now, your words won't change anything," I say

"Emery, That boy is bad for you! Cant, you see it?"

"I don't care, I love him!"

He went silent, just staring at me in disbelief

"You love him?" He scoffed
"Yes, I do, very much"

Then Anna, Tyler, and Keri walked in looking confused

"What's happening?" Asked Keri

"Yeah, we heard screaming from our rooms," Anna said

"Nothing" He huffed and left my room
Keri and Tyler followed him but Anna stayed

"Jonah is your boyfriend, right?" She asked sitting next to me

I nodded

"What happened that your dad doesn't like him?"

"A couple of years ago, in high school, he did something bad, but he apologized every day, and still to this day he apologizes, but one day he was very drunk and he was driving, someone was in the passenger seat, and he crashed and... They died, my dad blames him because 'he killed him'" I sighed

"Who was in the passenger seat?" She asked

"A cousin, he and my dad were very close... And ever since, my dad sees Jonah as a Criminal"

"Is Daniel sad because of Jonah?" Anna asked

"Most likely," I say

"Where is he anyway? I haven't seen him since he left earlier"

"Daniel didn't come back home?" I asked

"No... Was he supposed to?" She asked
"I don't know"

Just then, Anna's phone rings
"Hello?" She asked confused

I zoned out as the call kept on going
... Until

"Put your shoes on!" She screams
"What? Why?"

"Daniel's in the hospital!"
