I walked back into Daniel's room and sat down

"What's with the mad look on your face?" He asked

"Don't worry about it" I mumble
"Anna, what's wrong?"

"Emery! That's what's wrong!" I finally tell him

"Emery? What did she do?" He asked confused

"She lies, that's all"
"What does she lie about?"

"Don't worry about it," I tell him and go on my phone

Daniel's POV

I was so confused, what did Emery lie about?

I try to think of something but my head hurt trying to remember

"Can I go see her?" I asked Anna
"Why?"

"Because I want to"
"Fine"

She got a wheelchair and took me to Emery's room, leaving after

"Daniel?" Emery asked sitting up
"Hey Em," I said

I stood up carefully and sat on her bed
"You can't stand yet Daniel," She said

"I'll be fine," I tell her

I turn to look at her and something flashed in my mind, but I couldn't exactly tell what it was

"Why is Anna mad?" I ask her

I could tell her breath stopped for a second, she knew why she was mad

"Um... I don't know" She said looking away

"Stop lying to me, Just say it" I chuckle

She turned to look at me again, that look on her face was telling me something... But again, I couldn't understand

"Did you lie to me? Is that why she's mad?" I asked

Her eyes drifted away from mine, something was obviously wrong here

"Em, I'm gonna need you to talk to me please," I say grabbing her hand

"Daniel... You should go back to your room" She tells me, her eyes still somewhere else

I need to know what's happening here

"Emery, can you just please tell me? I wanna know whats going on inside your brain,"

Her eyes locked with mine and I felt something strong, whatever it was, It was important

"Daniel... Just go... It's better for the both of us" she mumbles, her eyes watering

"Emery, I'm not going anywhere," I say pulling her closer

"Daniel! Just go!" She raises her voice, the tears falling down her cheeks

"But Emery..." I mumble

"No Daniel... I'm going to college after I leave the hospital, and you won't have to worry about me until I come back for Christmas break"

"What are you hiding from me, Emery? Is it that hard to tell me?"

"We loved each other! Okay? That's all, you can leave now" She said

We loved each other? Isn't that what siblings do?

Or could it mean something else

"We love each other"

What was that? Did I say that? Was that a flashback?

"What type of love are we talking about here?" I asked completely confused

"Illegal love..." She mumbles

I thought about it for a bit, and it still didn't click

"Damn it, Daniel! We like each other! We've kissed before, and we've done things we shouldn't have!" She raised her voice

Suddenly, the urge to kiss her came to me, but I held back

We love each other...

"Excuse me? Can you repeat that?" Jonah asked
