The day to meet my dad came by and I was just outside the place he asked to meet at

"Cmon love, let's get this over with," Jonah said grabbing my hand

We entered the little restaurant and I see my dad in the corner

I take a deep breath before starting to walk towards him

He looks up at me and a small smile appeared on his face

He stood up as we approached him

"Hello, Emery," He said

Why does this feel so awkward?
Jonah squeezed my hand three times, making me feel better

"Hey dad" I smiled

I hugged him and then he shook Jonah's hand

Annabeth came with us as well, We couldn't just leave her alone

Anson just looked at him with wide eyes, and then a smile appeared on his face

"Is she your daughter too?" Dad asked, looking at Annabeth

"Oh no, that's Jonah's daughter, Annabeth," I tell him

He nods and turns back to me

"It's nice to see you again"

Time skip

We finished talking with my dad and decided to walk around the park

"Mommy! Look at that doggy!" She said pointing to a dog passing by us

The owner smiled, letting Annabeth pet it

"She's so adorable," The woman said
"Thank you" Jonah smiled

After Annabeth was done, we walked back to the car and decided to get ice cream

Time skip

"Isn't that Daniel?" Jonah asked
I look up to see Daniel with... Zach?

"Yeah, that's Daniel, And Zach," I say
"Should we go say hi?" Jonah suggests

"I mean, sure" I shrugged

I got out of the car and grabbed Anson, Jonah grabbed Annabeth

We walked up to them and I tapped Zach's shoulder

"Emery!" He said smiling, giving me a hug

"Jonah! My man" He said moving onto Jonah

Daniel walked up to me with a small smile and hugged me, gently grabbing Anson from my arms

"Hello buddy," He said in a baby voice

"So, what are you guys doing here?" Zach asked, picking up Annabeth

"We just came to get ice cream, do you guys wanna join us?" Jonah asked

Zach and Daniel nodded, so we headed into the ice cream shop

"I want strawberry ice cream!" Annabeth cheered

"Then I'll get you your strawberry ice cream!" Zach cheered with her

Jonah chuckled and looked down at me, giving me a sweet smile

I returned the smile, squeezing his hand

I look over at Daniel and saw him playing around with Anson

Once we all got our ice cream, we went and sat down at a small booth in the back

"Ice cream!" Annabeth said happily

"Damn it, I wish I had that much energy" Zach chuckled

We all laugh, starting to eat our ice cream

Daniel, Zach, and Annabeth sat in front of us

Anson sat on my lap, trying to grab my spoon

I laughed and fed him a bit of ice cream, making him smile

For once, I felt comfortable and happy knowing that Daniel and Jonah didn't hate each other and got along, I watched as they laughed together, making silly jokes, and Annabeth correcting them when they cursed

It just felt right.
