Chapter 28

Authors POV

Melissa and Chris walked back to their cars with a tired Abby in Chris's arms. "I will go back to the bigger office, and put another advert and see how all the other cafes are going, then I'll head home." Chris tells Melissa as he puts Abby in her car seat.

"Ok, I'll see you at home, thank you." Melissa replies, I closed the door and pulled her into a hug and a sweet kiss.

"I'll send you the Menu and you can go over it and see what you want to change for tomorrow, If you have any ideas add them and we can sort it all out tomorrow" Chris told Melissa, nodded her head he opened her driver's side door, so she could get in.

Melissa turned the engine on electrically winding down her window, Chris leaned in giving her another kiss. Stepping away from the car, he waved goodbye as she pulled out.

Melissa arrived home, she put Abby in her bed, while she had her midday nap, Melissa had a look at her emails, finding that Chris had already sent through a few files for the new cafe along with two workshops for managing and owning cafe's.

Melissa got them all done quickly while Abby is asleep, Melissa also looked at the menu, I wanted to change a few things hoping to change a few things.

Abby came down rubbing her eyes. "Hey baby, are you feeling better?" Melissa asks her daughter, nodding her head. Melissa pick up her daughter, placing Abby on her lap.

"Would you like a yogurt, and you can watch some of your TV time and don't worry the time you had this morning didn't count because you fell asleep" Melissa explained to her daughter. Nodding her head, she ran over to the TV while Melissa got Abby a yogurt cup.

Melissa closed starting to feel faint, she grabbed an Apple for herself, along with a water and apple juice for Abby.

I sit down next to Abby, "you can watch what you want, I'm just going to close my eyes." Melissa tells her daughter, nodding her head as Melissa closed her eyes.

Chris return home a few hours later with Abby still watching the TV 1Hr over her time limit.

Chris saw Melissa on the couch, fast asleep. He walked over, turning the TV off.

"Abby, can you go do some colouring in your room?" Chris asked Abby. He waited for Abby to be up stair not caring that Abby is over her screen time by an hour, he was more worried about Melissa.

Chris brushed hair from Melissa's face. "Babe I'm home, are you ok" Chris whispers, opening her eyes, letting out a breath, "What's the time?" Melissa whispers. "It's 3pm, are you ok, you looked pale." Chris asked Melissa. Getting up a little too fast, Melissa fell into Chris's arms.

"Ok, I will take you upstairs and call a doctor, I will tell Abby it's ok if she watches TV and we won't take the hours off." Chris tells Melissa about picking her up bridal style before going to their room.

Chris pulled out his phone, sitting with Melissa, seeing if they can get an appointment for, then call his mum to see if she can come and watch Abby while they go to the appointment for an hour later.

Chris's POV

I got mum come to look after Abby while I take Mel to the doctors.

When mum arrived, I told her that Abby is colouring in the living room, also telling her I need to get Melissa and take her to the doctors.

When we arrived at the doctors, I got myself out of the of the car; I helped Melissa out of the car, helping her into the waiting room to the private doctor, I set her down in a comfortable chair. I got to the counter letting the receptionist Melissa is here for her appointment.

We get called into my male doctor's office; I help Melissa up; she wobbles so my doctor helped her onto the bed but Melissa held onto me so tight. I didn't even think about this.

"Doctor Tee, do you mind if we can have a female doctor in here, she has a few trust issues with males" I ask Doctor Tee, nodding his head, he called a female doctor into the room while I calmed Melissa down.

There's a knock "Come in" Doctor Tee spoke as a female doctor walked into the room. "Hi I doctor Reed, I'm here for Melissa" Doctor Reed spoke in an Indian accent.

Melissa turned her head, calming down. "Hi Melissa, Doctor Tee is a gentle giant, I can come in for all your appointments until you feel comfortable, if you don't I don't think doctor Tee will mind if you would like to transfer over to me" Doctor Reed said with a slight chuckle, as Chris and Doctor Tee chuckled too.

Melissa's POV

Doctor Reed pulled a chair up to the bed, "How are you today Melissa?" Doctor Reed asked.

"Tired, nauseated, dizzy" I listed, Doctor Reed nodded. "Do you mind if Doctor Tee Feels your stomach?" Doctor Reed asked, I shake her head. I felt so scared, an unknown male that I don't know wanting to touch me. Bringing back memories about Jake, I freeze Doctor Reed continues.

"Ok, can I touch your stomach?" Doctor Reed asked, nodding my head Doctor Reed stood up pulling Melissa's shirt up to see busies, knuckle marks and many scars. Looking at Chris and the two doctors.

"My ex partner did it, it wasn't Chris, he helped me get out" I whisper. Doctor Reed nods as she feels my stomach.

"Have you gained any weight?" Doctor Reed asked me, I shrugged my shoulders.

"I think she has, sorry Mel" I hear Chris speaks, I just smile knowing he didn't mean it in the meanest way.

"Have you had any food cravings?" Reed asked me again.

"Yeah, a little." I reply.

"Ok, I will get you to pee in the cup, come back in and I will do a full check over" Doctor Reed asks, I nod my head, Chris helps me off the bed as doctor reed passed me a cup.

Doctor Reed did a full check over me to see if there were any internal injuries from Jake that she couldn't find.

"Reed, the test is ready" Doctor Tee spoke, Reed looks at Doctor Tee, walking over to the testing station.

Doctor Reed inspected the test humming, "Are you ok to sit up?" Doctor Reed asked me, nodding Chris helped me up, sitting beside me.

"Well, I would like to congratulate you, seems like these symptoms are, pregnancy symptoms and the test confirms it" I hear Doctor Reed explain, I show a slight smile as does Chris, taking my hand he gives it a squeeze.

"Would you like have a look, I have OGYN machine in my office." Doctor Reed asked me. I look over at Chris he smiled, I see a sparkle in his eyes.

We transfer to Doctor's Reeds room after saying good bye shaking his hand, "Don't worry if you go to Doctor Reed." Doctor Tee tells me, "And Chris it's ok, if you want to go there too, but you know you can always come to me" Doctor tree tells Chris.

Doctor Reed welcomed us into her now black room, "Ok, sit up on the on the table." Reed asked me. I nod, sitting up on the table with Chris's help.

"So a standard question, is this your first child?" Reed asked me. "No, I have a child from a pervious relationship" I tell Doctor Reed, nodding her head not asking any further questions.

"All right, lay back and pull up your shirt, this might be cold. Chris did you want to go by Melissa's head and we can get started." Reed spoke.

Reed squeezed the Gel onto my stomach, rolled the wand around, do you have any twins in the family?" Reed asked

Chris and I both shook our heads, well congratulations you will be the first in the family to have twins" Doctor Reed spoke tapping buttons on her keyboard.

"So here they are, your identical, would you like pictures?" Reed asked they both nodded, "how far along am I?" Melissa speaks up.

"You are one month along." Reed stated, "I will print these pictures, and we can organise another appointment" Reed told Chris and I, the now parents of twins and Abby.
