Chapter 11: It's A Small World After All

Melody's P-O-V

"Bye mommy! Bye daddy!" I yelled walking out of the door.

"Be back by 11:30!" I heard my father yell.

I hopped into the car with Travis and he gave me a lingering kiss.

As he pulled out of the driveway he asked, "What movie do you want to see?"

"I don't know let's see when we get there."

"Okay. So... today at school, I noticed that those Mindless Boys are back."

I did a complete face-palm, "It's Mindless Behavior," I mumbled through my hand.

"Oh. Sorry. I noticed that Mindless Behavior is back," he said oozing sarcasm.

I rolled my eyes, "But yeah. So what?"

"That Prodigy guy. He try anything at school?"

My mind flashed back to what had happened earlier. The way has hand felt in mine. The look of desperation in his eyes after I told him off.

"Listen Melody. Travis isn't who you think he is."

Then I thought about what Leslie said earlier.

"...Look at Travis then tell me who is really the cheater!"

No, not Travis. He's a good guy. I shook the thoughts from my head and tuned back in to Travis.

"Melody?"

I faced him a little lost, "Huh?"

"Did he try something?"

"Oh. Um, no. Don't worry about him."

"Okay... Are you alright?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine."

We drove the rest of the way in silence. When we got there, after begging, pleading, and a dash of bribing, we both agreed on watching Wreck-It Ralph. We got to the concession stand and I couldn't believe it. I sawthem. All of them! Leslie, Andrew, MB, and some girl! I wonder if she was the one Roc was talking about...

I took Travis' hand and tried to hide until Andrew called me.

"Melody? Travis? What are youguys doing here?" he had said.

"What is going on here?" Travis asked.

I sighed and pulled him over to everyone.

"Weare here to see a movie. What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"Especially you," Travis said looking Prodigy up and down.

Prodigy rolled his eyes.

"We are all here for the same reason as you," Princeton replied.

"Oh," Travis said.

"Let's just go see the movie," I said taking Travis' hand.

"What movie are you guys seeing anyway?" the girl standing next to Andrew asked.

"Oh. Melody, this is Malkia. My date," Andrew said.

"Oh. This is her? Well, nice to meet you. I thought you were that girl Roc was cheating on Leslie with."

That part slipped out. Everyone looked at me funny. Leslie was already upset with me, but she looked furious just now.

"Roc," she said; her lip quivering as if she was going to blow a gasket, "Can we go somewhere else? Please?"

"Yeah. Let's go," I heard Roc say giving me a dirty look before taking her hand.

They walked out of the theater together.

"Way to go Melody," Ray-Ray said sarcastically.

"Oh shut up rat face..." I spat back.

I angrily walked away with Travis into the theater.
