Shawn has listened to that damn voicemail message a thousand times by the time he gets to her apartment, but none of his messages got a reply and he was losing his shit. He is angry at Teddy for messing things up again, but it's not really her fault, she wouldn't have known. He should have told his friends the exact situation to avoid a mishap like this, but he was too busy enjoying their new moments together.

"Hey, it's Camila. Leave a mess-" Her voice doesn't get to finish, he ends the call growling in annoyance as he is standing at her front door, trying to figure out what to do.

"Camila! Are you here?" he calls out knocking on the door, feeling awkward as his voice breaks the silence of the hallway. He doesn't want to disturb the neighbors and get her into trouble, but he needs to see her. He tries to listen to any noise that might come from inside, but there is none.

His phone buzzes and he immediately checks, hoping it's a message from her, but it's just Teddy, checking in on him and the situation. He texts back that there is no news and he won't be returning to the bar before leaving.

He feels like everything just slipped out of his hands in a minute, even though it seemed like they were making progress. Shawn couldn't help but notice how Camila opened up to him and the stuff they did was more on the dating side rather than the casual friends with benefits site.

It's past midnight when he gets back home, totally disappointed and desperate to hear from her, but there has been nothing. Teddy has texted him a few more times, mainly to apologize for causing all this trouble, and he managed to get back to her and tell her it's not really her fault.

After a hot shower he is sitting on the edge of his bed in only his Calvins, checking his messages every minute, but still nothing. He then finally puts the phone to the nightstand and lies down, staring at the ceiling as awake as ever. Long minutes pass by before the doorbell rings abruptly in the painful silence. He basically runs to the door answering the call.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry for the late call, Mr. Mendes, but you have a visitor. It's-" The doorman of the building starts, but he doesn't get to finish.

"Camila?" He asks, his heart pounding in his chest like crazy.

"Yes, that's correct. Shall I let her up?"

"Yes! Thank you!" he gasps happily. Running back to his room he quickly puts on a pair of black sweatpants before there is a faint knock on the door so he runs back as if the floor was burning lava. Opening the door her bright eyes meet his and he cannot describe how happy he is to see her.

"Camila, where have you been?" he asks, kind of out of breath as he holds the door open for her while she walks in.

"I had to take a walk. Sorry for not answering your messages, I just needed to be alone," Camila explains to him. Her eyes wander to his shirtless torso and can't help but feel her cheeks blushing at the pleasing sight, even though it's definitely not the first time seeing him like this.

"Look, I'm sorry for what Teddy said. I never told her that we are together or anything, she just assumed. I'm sorry if it scared you or anything."

The words are just rolling off of his tongue, wanting to get everything out there and explain the situation to her. The past few hours felt like hell for him, and now Camila is standing right there, lips slightly parted, staring at him without a word.

He waits for Camila to say anything, but she just seems to be at a loss of words.

"Camila, please, say something," he pleads, taking a tiny step closer to her, not wanting to scare her off with anything. "Are you mad?"

After what feels like forever Camila finally speaks up.

"I'm not mad."

"You're not?" He is genuinely surprised by her answer and by the fact that there is nothing hidden on her face that tells otherwise. Camila really is not mad.

"No." A faint smile appears on her lips, bringing immediate joy to his heart. "I mean, I think I was at first, but then... I thought about it and realized that Teddy was right."

"Right? About what?"

"That lately we really have been acting like a real couple and I didn't even realize but managed to deal with you being..." Camila gestures at his tall, shirtless figure. "You."

"Wait, what are you trying to tell me with this?" he asks, because he just can't believe he is getting the message right.

"What I'm trying to say is... I was unsure about my feelings because I didn't think we would be able to coexist with our different lives. But I realized that we somehow managed to make it work and... I loved it. So it might be time to give it a chance. To give us a chance."

Camila is shifting her weight from one leg to the other, staring at Shawn and hoping that he still feels the same way. It would be the most awkward moment of her life if he just said he has moved on.

"You know, this is a part when an answer would be pretty appreci-"

Camila gets cut off by his lips smashing against hers, his massive hands are holding her cheeks in place, not like she would pull back. Her small hands slide to his sides, his hot skin feels smooth under her touch.

Their lips work perfectly together, she's been aching to taste him for so long now and the same goes for him. All the feelings they've been keeping hidden just surfaced and ready to be free in that one kiss.

Minutes pass by, their hands have wandered everywhere they could reach, but their need for a big breath puts an end to their kiss.

"Fuck, I'm sorry for being so... excited, I've been just waiting for you to say that for months," Shawn chuckles resting his forehead against hers.

"It's okay," Camila giggles, her hands resting on his naked chest. "I'm sorry it took me so long."

"I would have waited for you forever," he whispers before pressing a short kiss on her lips.

"And... What now?" Camila questions, not really sure about what's next."

"We just live day by day. Try to make it work."

"Okay," she nods. Day by day, that's not hard, she can do that. "But there is still one thing..."

"What exactly?"

Camila looks into his eyes, biting into her swollen bottom lip, trying to hide her smile before speaking up.

"You still owe me a live performance of your song."

His delightful chuckle makes her smile finally plaster across Camila's lips. Leaning down he kisses her rosy cheek before nodding.

"You're right. Let me make it up to you," he grins taking Camila's hand and pulling her towards the piano.
