I woke up from my slumber when the room jolts.
Startled, I got up from my side but fell back as soon as the room jolts once more. It felt like the room didn't want me to wake up at all. Or perhaps the cause of my fall is my weak legs. Whimpering, I felt about my surroundings blindly as I tried to figure out where I am. I couldn't see. But I'm not sure if it was because of the darkness of the room I was in or if I was not born with sight. I frowned when I noticed no matter where my fingers made contact, it's always feel like I'm touching some sort of metal.
As I tried to stand up by using the support of the metal wall, the room shot upwards. The noises the mechanical system made so much noise that it was deafening. As the metal cage travels upwards, the wind blew down on me harshly. Crawling on all fours, I continued to feel against the wall blindly looking for a way out, but I felt no opening. I huffed before sitting back down with my legs crossed, if I can't find a way out, how did I get in? And who put me here? Am I a prisoner?
I don't have the answers.
What can I do now? Nothing if this 'room' keeps on moving upwards. I briefly wondered where it was taking me before my stomach decides to growl.
"Oh shut up." I said as I hit my hand against it. My throat hurts when I speak, it sounded like I just had a screaming match with someone before I found myself waking up in this dark room. But I wanted to hear my voice again. Any other sound is better than the horrible scraping sound the metal room had made against the wall. I'm sure I saw sparks that were created by the friction. I touched my left eye as I heaved a sigh of relief, I wasn't blind after all, my eyes needed time to adjust to the darkness.
"I'm going to talk." I began speaking, feeling stupid to be talking to myself. I couldn't hear myself clearly of course, everything was muffled due to the endless scraping noise. "My name is... erm..." I frowned when I couldn't think of my name.
"I can't remember my name. I just woke up and found myself in here. I'm alone in this strange metal room that is going upwards for quite a bit now. Scratch that, this isn't a room anymore, it's a cage. There are boxes sitting around this place. That's it, I guess." I ran out of things to say as I eyed the boxes that were opposite me. Nothing happened for a while as I wondered how much longer does the metal cage need to travel.
That is, until my stomach growled once more.
"I'm going to open them. There could be food inside." I thought as I shuffled towards the nearest one before tearing the opening to have a look inside.
Clothes.
I sighed before letting it fall at my side as I opened another three boxes, again and again disappointment washed over me like waves of tsunami. I eyed the next box in distaste when I found hammers and nails in them, groaned when the next one is packed with gardening tools and tossed the last one aside when I saw it contains ropes.
A loud crank rang out from above me and I jumped before looking upwards. There was a small crack of light on top of the cage but I didn't have time to find out what it is before I heard voices. As if instinct, I immediately dived into one of the bigger boxes and hid inside it, throwing clothes over my body to keep myself hidden. This box is so huge. I thought to myself as the voices grew louder, I heard someone jumped in and walked around as if he or she was looking for something.
"Found anything?"
"Where's the greenie?"
"Isn't he inside?"
"I can't see him!"
"Maybe there's no greenie this month."
"How can't they not send a greenie? What does this mean?"
