Finally around dawn, something happened that made my waiting pay off. Somehow in my half-awake state, I heard footsteps approaching my room. And since my room is the last one in the corridor, the person can't go any further there, unless his destination is the room opposite mine.

Quickly, I lay back down on the hammock, groaning when I accidentally caught my hair with my fingers and pulled it. But there wasn't enough time to move now. Opening my eyes a fraction wide to have a look at who had just opened my door, I was surprised to see a boy. He has a pair of muscular arms and has black hair growing on his head. He looks older than Newt. He was wearing a blue shirt with buttons in the middle. The weird thing was he was standing there; watching me.

What a creep.

Five minutes passed and he still hasn't moved a muscle. My position was getting more uncomfortable as the seconds ticked by. That's it! I'm getting up. "What do you want?" I snapped at him as I sat up, relief to be able to move freely again.

"You heard me?" his eyes widen in surprise.

I frown at the familiarity of his voice. "For the last five minutes, yeah. You're Minho aren't you?" I asked when I recognize his voice from the gathering.

"How did you know?" he questioned me as he narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

Well here goes nothing. "I was right outside when you gave your suggestion." I paused for a moment before continuing. "And that was a great comeback too."

"Whatever greenie." Minho rolled his eyes as he shrugged off my comment before reaching his hand forward to close the door. "Unlike some fortunate people, they don't have to wake up this early in the shucking morning for their shucking job."

"Can I come?" I asked as I jumped out of bed as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. Minho looked hesitant. "Please? I'll just sit there and listen. I won't bother anyone."

He debated with himself for a moment before shrugging. "You don't need a babysitter do you?"

"I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself."

"Fine but I'm not waiting for you to find your way to the entrance." He turned around and left, keeping to his word. I groaned before abandoning the attempt to wear my shoes before running out of my room barefooted. As soon as I turned to a corner, I collided into someone and caused both of us to stumble around as we tried to avoid falling towards the floor. I mumbled a quick sorry before making a mad dash downstairs, hitting against walls and furniture purposely along the way.

And boy, do they hurt.

When I was finally out, I stopped in my tracks, realizing that I didn't know what Minho's job was. My eyes scanned around for Minho's figure but I couldn't see him anywhere; don't tell me I couldn't catch sight of him if he just got out.

Cupping my hands around my mouth, I took in a deep breath before bellowing on top of my lungs. "MIN- hmfff!" the rest of my voice became muffled when someone slapped his hand on my mouth.

"Are you crazy greenie? You're gonna wake up the whole glade!" I heard Minho hissed behind me. I shoved his hand away before making a disgusted face. "People need their beauty sleep, you know."

"Well, it serves you right for leaving first!" I stuck my tongue out at him childishly, making him roll his eyes at me in return. "Lead the way shuckface." I bowed down mockingly at him.

"Don't boss me around, you're just a greenie."

"But I'm a girl."

"I'm wearing shoes."

"Touché. Hurry up, the grass is prickling me."

Turns out Minho was the Keeper of the Runners. As he 'kindly' carried me on his back towards one of the doors (I think it's the East Door) after we had a big debate that he should since I was 'blind'. He did so, after grumbling a few curses under his breath which earned himself to be hit at the back of his head. Minho had also informed me that Runners are the fastest and the strongest gladers and their job was to explore the maze and find a way out. Cocky bastard.
