Promptly at six o'clock, my door bell rings and I know it's him. Not only am I impressed by him not being even a minute late, I am impressed that he didn't call me to come out or honk the horn like other idiots I've been on dates with.

"Coming!" I yell out as I make my way to the front door, straightening out my dress along the way.

"Don't forget, I want to meet him." My father yells from the living room.

Great. If me being a virgin didn't scare him off, my dad surely will. I look over to my mom who is standing in the entranceway to the kitchen as she shakes her head and rolls her eyes at my father's overprotective attitude.

I open the door and see him standing before me with a bouquet of colorful spring flowers in his hand.

"You look gorgeous." He says as he eyes my attire appreciatively.

I didn't overdo it, but I did opt for a casual white dress with a light blue jean jacket and some nude wedges. I wasn't really sure where we were going, but I wanted to be prepared the best I could be.

"Thank you. You look handsome. Are these for me?" I ask as I grab the bouquet from his hand. "Come in. Um, my father would like to meet you."

He nods and steps inside. My mom steps up and greets him first with a warm handshake and smile. She never failed to have my back and was always thrilled when I finally decided to go on a date. Especially since they were very rare occasions.

When Taehyung turned to walk with me to the living room, I look back at my mom who is giving me two thumbs up and mouthing the words so hot. I try to hold back a giggle as it reminded me of Madison's reaction to him last night when I dropped her off.

"Dad, this is Taehyung. Taehyung, this is Officer Young." My dad never liked to be introduced by his first name. He felt like Officer Young was more intimidating.

"Hello sir. Nice to meet you. You have a lovely home." Taehyung extends a hand and my father grips on to shake it with some force.

Unlike other guys I've dated though, Taehyung doesn't break eye contact with my dad and matches his firm handshake with ease. He even slightly bows to him which I learned during some quick research this afternoon is a Korean sign of respect.

"Hello Taehyung. Since you're new in town and I've never met you, I wanted to talk to you before you take my daughter out. I'm sure you understand." My dad says with judgmental eyes.

If only he knew that this was technically date number two and I spent the night with him in his bed last night.

"Yes sir. I understand." Taehyung responds respectfully.

"Where do you plan on taking Ava tonight?" My dad questions.

"Honey, she's eighteen now and graduated. We talked about this." My mom yells out from the kitchen.

"You're right. She's not a little girl anymore." He says looking at me before turning his head back to Taehyung.

"She no longer has a curfew, but if she's going to be out late, I do ask that she calls and checks in so we know she's safe." He states.

Taehyung nods in agreement, looking back over to me with a smile, "I'll be sure to keep her safe and be a complete gentleman at all times."

My dad eyes him up and down for a moment before speaking again. An awkward silence filling the room, but Taehyung never cowered down or showed signs of intimidation.

My mother clears her throat when she had enough of the foolishness.

"You two have fun. See you later baby girl." My dad says after my mother basically commanded it.
