Chapter Twenty-Five

"Where do I file this one?" Lucas asks as I enter in some data into the computer.

I stand up and walk over to him to see what it is he's looking at. "File it under Accounting."

He nods and continues with his busy work while I stay fixated on the computer. It's been a long day with a lot to do and I was extremely hungry from skipping breakfast. Once again, I almost overslept from getting a lack of sleep.

I glance down at the clock to see it hit noon and quickly lock the computer and stand up, grabbing my bag to head out the door and get some food.

"Hey, where are you going?" He calls out as he sees me dash out of the office door.

"It's lunchtime." I let him know.

"Have a good lunch, Ava!" Mrs. Bailey calls out from the other end of the gallery.

"Hold up! Do you mind if I come? I didn't bring anything today." He asks running after me.

I turn and think about it for a minute and then shrug. "Sure, but I'm getting pizza."

He smiles and walks behind me briskly as I make my way to my parked car. We both hop in and I start the car up and look over at him in the passenger seat. I don't mean to but I'm staring.

"What?" He says with a bashful smile.

I shake my head. "Nothing. I've just only ever had one other guy in my car before and it's kind of weird."

"Oh. Boyfriend?" He asks with his voice raising at the sound of the word.

I nod and put the car in reverse.

"Are you two...still together?"

I nod again.

"Will I be able to meet him? Will he be coming to the gallery any time soon?"

I know he's just making small talk or getting to know me, but the fact that the answer is no stings in my chest.

I shake my head. "No. He's away at school. South Korea."

He nods and we ride in silence over the next few minutes to the pizza parlor down the street.

Once inside, he offers to buy me a slice and drink, but I found it a bit inappropriate for another guy to buy me food so I politely decline. I just want to get my food and eat so I can finish my day and go back to the dorm to take a nap.

As I'm sitting down at a table to wait on my food, my phone lights up with a call from Taehyung. Surprised and excited, I quickly answer it.

"Hey baby! I'm surprised to see you calling at this hour. What has you up so early?" I beam.

"Hey! I decided to get up much earlier to call you while you were on lunch before I go work out. It's still your lunch, right?" His voice was happy, but full of that sleepy raspy tone that I love so much.

"Yeah, it's still lunchtime. I'm out getting pizza now." I cover my phone to hide my voice from people passing by. "Your voice sounds so sexy when you first wake up."

"Mmm, is that right? Too bad you're not alone or we could do something about that." He flirts and I think I might need to change my panties already.

"Hey, Ava...are you number 24? I think your order is up." Lucas calls out as he passes by me to sit in the chair across from me. "Oh, sorry! I didn't know you were on the phone."

"You're eating lunch with Lucas?" Taehyung flatly asks.

"Yeah, he needed a ride to get something to eat." I answer truthfully.
