Because Of You

Chapter 61

Adrian's P.O.V.

“I love you, so I’m letting you go.”

I immediately hugged her and I closed my eyes.

“I love you.” I kissed her forehead.

I have to leave you, Mia. It is for our own good. You’ll know it soon and understand it, Mia. I hate seeing you cry in front of me.

When I saw her on my graduation day. I was mad. She’s hurting herself and I don’t like it. I tried to keep my poker face on her until she ran away. I wanted to follow her, but I refrained myself.

2 years have passed. I stayed and studied in Switzerland. I accelerated and I have a job now. I have achieved my dreams. I am now an Architect. This is what I dream about. No matter how hard it is you must never give up and never stop chasing your dreams. At the end, you will soar high.

At first, it was difficult for me especially with my Dad's expectation. He wanted me to become a business tycoon. My Dad has many rivals in business, so he enrolled me in Taekwondo and taught me different kinds of skills in fighting. Since then, I always follow my Dad's words.

FLASHBACK

"Follow that goon, bring him down." Dad inhaled from his cigarette, he sighed and smoke came out from his mouth. "I'll wait in the car." He dropped his cigarette and stepped on it.

I watched him as he walked towards the car. I turned my gaze to the man his referring to. I gulped. This is my first order my Dad gave me. This is my first time to fight. I started walking towards to the abandoned building. I hid behind the wall.

"Sige, pataubin niyo ang Ford na iyan.

"Yes, boss!"

I overheard their conversation. It was a Filipino language. I can understand their language because my Mom's a Filipina. But I am still learning to speak their language.

I walked behind him, but his men saw me. I dodged his punch and I took the chance to kick his stomach. The other man hit me with his baseball bat. I let out a cough. I turned to his side when I felt he was about to hit me again. I immediately stepped his foot and kick his leg. I got the chance to get his baseball bat and hit the other man. He lose his consciousness.

After fighting those two man, I immediate cling my arm to the goon's neck from behind. I tightened the grasp. I heard his cough in between his laugh.

"Don't you dare drag us down. You might be the first one."

I prepared my gun. I let go of him and kicked his back. He dropped into the cold cement floor. He grab his gun when he turned to me. I didn't give him the chance to pull the trigger. I immediately shoot him and made sure he was not breathing.

END of FLASHBACK

Now, I decided to go to a different path. I made a decision to choose myself now. I made sure I won't regret my life. It was not easy. But I fought for my choice and never gave up. And I was happy about it. I never knew this life of mine would be that cruel.

"Saf!" I turned my gaze to her.

I kissed her cheeks. 

"What are you doing here?" Anna's brows furrowed and she looked around the shop. "Jewelry shop? Really Saf?" She chuckled.

"Wala, just gonna buy something." I smiled.

She automatically rolled her eyes. Probably, heard me speaking other language.

"Okay. See you around." She blew a kiss into the air. I caught it and winked at her.

I immediately surveyed my eyes onto the showcase. The salesperson approached and greeted me. I pointed at the ring. She immediately got it for me. I took it and looked closely to the diamond ring. It has a little square gemstone on top of the ring. I picked the perfect fit of the ring.

"For your girlfriend, Sir?" I slightly shook my head.

"No. For my wife." I smiled.

After paying, I went out of the jewelry shop. I got myself a coffee before heading home.

"Yes, the wedding is fast approaching, honey." I heard my Mom said.

I greeted them and kissed my Mom's cheeks. She turned her gaze to me.

"Are you ready for the wedding?" I chuckled.

"Of course. I am, Mom."

I went up to my room and took a bath. After, I changed my clothes. I opened my cabinet and saw my suit for the wedding. I smiled while watching it.

I went to bed and slept.

Weeks have passed. Today is the wedding day. I smiled at the thought of it. Agad kong kinuha ang suit ko. Nang masuot ito ay humarap ako sa salamin ng aking kwarto. I held the collar and fixed it. I turned my gazed at my Mom who just entered my room.

"You ready, son? Maghihintay kami ng Daddy mo sa baba."

Tumango lang ako at pinagpatuloy ang pag-aayos.

I immediately went down after I fixed my hair. We drove off to the church. When I entered the church I faced the altar and I feeble a smile.

I went in front of the altar and went to my place.

I took a deep breath. I sighed. I saw a lot of people inside the church and was busy. Some are waiting for the bride. They closed the church door and stayed in their position. After a while, as the door opened we saw Anna in a bridal gown. I smiled.

She walked slowly down the aisle. Her parents were beside her and other bridesmaid assisted and fixed her gown as she's walking. I faced the altar and my gaze went back to her.

When Anna's almost near the altar. She looked at me and smiled. A tear escaped from her eyes. Now, she's in front of the altar her parents kissed her cheeks and went to their seat. She sweetly smiled.

"Saf, thank you for guiding me. You were such a good friend to me. Now, I'm getting married to the man who I truly love." She wiped her tears as she looked at her husband. "I hope you will end up with her." She hugged me for a moment and went in front of her husband. I smiled at them.

The ceremony started and they were so happy with each other while saying their vows. I did not think I was here and watched the woman who was obsessed with me then. I am happy for her she is now truly in love with her partner. Masaya ako at pinalaya na niya ako at hindi na nag-aksaya ng oras sa akin. Alam naman niya iyon na may iba akong mahal.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

The crowd cheered when they kissed. We clapped our hands. We head out of the church after the ceremony and we went straight to their wedding reception.
