Alex's P.O.V

"Stop here," I said to him and Klaus looked at me confused. "What? I want a soda." I said to him and he rolled his eyes. I got out and walked inside. I grabbed a soda, with some other things, and then saw the best hat for Klaus on the face of the earth and grabbed it.

I had just walked out of the gas station store with a bag full of supplies to find Klaus waiting for me outside our SUV. I pulled a black and white trucker cap that reads, 'Mother Trucker' on it and waved it at Klaus, who immediately objected to it. Like I said, best hat on the face of the earth.

"Absolutely not!" Klaus said and I laughed.

"Oh come on you almost yelled this twenty times on the highway...It's unbelievably perfect for you." I explained and Klaus rolled his eyes again. "Then there is the fact that we need to blend in! You could start by losing the thousand-dollar jacket." Klaus sighed petulantly and made a face at me.

"Tell me again why we're on a scenic tour of Methamphetamine Country, and not compelling a jet to some far-off - preferably tropical - destination?" Klaus asked me and I sighed.

"Not that Hawaii doesn't sound like the perfect getaway, but I'm not the one with an army of pissed-off vampires coming after me. Can I have the keys?" I asked him. My husband sighed dramatically once again before he pulled the keys out of his pocket and reluctantly slammed them into my open hand.

"On a scale from one to ten, exactly how much am I going to despise this little plan of yours?" He asked me. I made a face and thought about it for a moment before I replied.

"I would say... a solid one-hundred million. Plus I might get to know my husband a bit more." I said to him and gave him a mocking smile. I slapped the trucker cap on his head, then kissed his cheek. "But you love me." He grabbed me by the waist and kissed me.

"Yes, I do." He said and I got into the driver's seat, though Klaus didn't take off the hat which made me smile. He got in and I smiled at him as we left the gas station.

We were on the highway again and traffic was bad. Hope and Shawn were asleep and not crying. I was tapping along to the radio while Klaus looked extremely annoyed. "Would it be bad if I killed everyone in our way?" Klaus asked me and I turned to him while laughing.

"You remember what I said about blending in?" I asked him in a mocking tone. I looked at his hat and smirked. "I should really buy one of those hats for Damon, then give it to him the next time I see him."

"Or you could give him this one." My husband said and I shook my head.

"Hells to the no, you're keeping that hat so that the next time Elijah sees you he can laugh his ass off. Then all your siblings get blackmail on you." I explained and Klaus rolled his eyes. We then turned back to look at the road as I continued to dance along to the radio.

"Is this what normal families do?" He asked and I looked at him confused.

"What?" I asked.

"Husband and wife switch off on driving. Kids in the back seat sleeping. The husband sits in his seat annoyed by traffic while his beautiful wife dances to her favorite radio station." Klaus explained and I smiled at him.

"Yes, this is what normal families do. Or at least the happy ones." I said to him. "And if you hate traffic so much we can get off at the next stop and go to Mystic Falls."

"To give Damon my hat?" Klaus asked with hope in his voice and I shook my head.

"Nope." I said while popping the 'p'. "So Damon can take a photo of you along with Alaric, Bonnie, Caroline...."
