Chapter 08: Shopping for House Items

Needing to shop for clothes and other household items, Wynonna is doing to Port Angeles today. Sue has already agreed to watch Nigel and Eliza while Nona is gone. Sue is glad that Wynonna is a mature eighteen year old and is both capable and willing to raise her siblings.

And it's sunny today, so Nona is pretty pleased with her timing. She's dressed in some black capris and a thin blue long sleeved shirt, with some black Vans.

Wynonna gets her siblings dressed and drives them to Sue's. The woman promises she'll take care of them and protect them with her life.

She's already got lightbulbs, some trash bags, a box cutter from when she moved to Forks, a first aid kit she keeps because of the kids, batteries for whatever needs them. She got all of that when she decided to move. She bought the lightbulbs once in Port Angeles and got them all set up in the new house.

Wynonna had new locks put in the other day, security is everything when you have two kids in your house. She didn't want to risk the old owner unlocking the door and walking right on in if they still have their key to the house. So Nona did the smart thing, and changed the locks.

Nona does have internet, and cable. Charlie help her get that set up. She also bought a buttooad of food and drinks so that she can feed her own siblings. Charlie offered to feed them so she could get all of her stuff at once. She'll get her household items and clothes today since she's done got the food. But they've using paper plates and plastic spoons and forks Wyn brought with them from Seattle.

Wynonna parks close to the Walmart building in Port Angeles and she removes her seatbelt. She checks her wallet for the money she needs and she heads inside. Nona grabs a cart first thing and she walks toward the isles she needs for her shopping. She's starting out with stuff for her kitchen.

Silverware comes first. Different types of knifes; flatware, steak knives, butter knives, a silverware organizer. Then the dishes. Plates, bowls, two serving platters, glass cups for her and plastic cups for the kids, coffee cups for Charlie, and even some wine glasses.

Wynonna moves to the basic utensils for cooking. She puts a couple of each into the cart: tongs, spatulas, ladles and skimmers, and whisks. She gets a utensil holder, a cutting board, pots and pans, baking sheets, tupperweewe, bottle opened, and some measuring cups and the measuring spoons.

She pays for this stuff and puts them in her car before going right back in. Nona gets a microwave, a coffee pot, a blender.. She makes sure to get trash cans for the bathroom and the kitchen since they've been using trash bags since they moved in.

Nona gets a step stool for her little brother. She gets some magnatic hooks to out on the fridge and she goes to the kid section, she gets kid magnets for the fridge for Nigel and Eliza. She goes right back to the kitchen isles.

She buys some sponges, dish soap, dish towels, paper towels. Wynonna also gets some aluminum foil, plastic wrap, plastic bags, ice trays, two can openers, and some oven mits. And for decor, Nona buys a Batman and Robin kitchen run.

Like she did wirh her dishes, Wynonna pays for these items and she brings them on home. She sees Esme leaning against her car wirh a smile. Nona sighs in relief and she and Esme begin bringing things in and setting them up and putting them where they belong.

"Where are the kids?" Esme asks as the two head back toward Walmart in Port Angeles, Esme wants to help Nona finish packing.

"A babysitter in La Push, the woman's name is Sue," Wynonna replies. "I trust her."

"That's good," Esme coos as she turns the radio up a little.

Wynonna gets some more bed spreads, for her and the kids. She buys a toddler bed for Eliza for whenever she is big enough for one, she wants to have one. Esme helps pick out a potty training chair for Eliza, too.

Nona gets herself a lamp with monkeys all over it. She gets Eliza a Cinderella lamp and Nigel a lamp with the praying mantis all over it. She gets a large, brow, standing lamp for the living room. Nona buys some curtains for each room and a couple fans, even though she and Esme agree that they might be useless, but Wynonna wants to be safe.

Wynonna gets hangers for her and the kids' closets, and some shoe racks. Esme picks out three hanging shelves. A burgundy one with little black crosses for Nona; a pink one with Princess Belle on it; and a dark green one wirh dinosaurs on it.

Nona gets herself a door mirror for her room. She's scared to get a six year old one because she's scared he'll accidentally break it.

Next on Nona's list while Esme uses the money she gave her to pay for what they just bought and bring it to the car, is bathroom essentials. She gets a blue shower curtain with white rings and fish all over it, a silver shower rod, some a white toothbrush holder, it holds three toothbrushes.

Wynonna decides to grab another small pack of toilet paper, she doesn't want to risk running out. She gets a plunger, a bath mat with fish on it, a weight scale, some bathroom trash can trash bags, a tropic scented air freshener, a towel rack and towels, and some wash clothes.

Esme goes in when Nona comes out with those essentials. Cleaning supplies is what Esme's going in for. She's agreed to help Wynonna. And they've been at the store for hours, and Esme doesn't mind. She called Carlisle and told him where she was.

"Esme is spending more time with my mate than I am," Jasper murmurs.

"She's your blood singer," Carlisle reminds his son. "You can't be close to her without those animalistic urges. It's understandable that you cannot stand to be around her right now, her or those kids."

"The kids don't bother me, I know I'd never, EVER hurt them," Jasper assures Carlisle while Esme and Nona head to Nona's. "I'm scared that if I get close to Wynonna and alone with her, I'm scared I'll lose control and slip. I'd never forgive myself if anything were to happen to her and it be at my hands."

Carlisle touches his shoulder. "You'd be able to control yourself."

"How?" Jasper asks as Alice's mate, Alexander, walks in. "How will I be able to keep control of myself?"

Alexander looks at the coven's newest vegetarian vampire. "Easy... Imagine your life without her in it."

Jasper stares at Alex for a while and he finally sighs. Alexander's right. Without saying a word, Jasper walks up to his room and sits on the side of his bed, thinking about Wynonna and imagining life without her, and it's hard.

Alice walks in and sits beside him. "Talk to me, Jas. What's wrong?"

Jasper glances at his friend and he sighs, he begins talking about control and Wynonna.
