Chapter 37: Winning a Battle

              It's battle time! Wynonna will be on the mountain with Edward and Bella. She's swinging through the trees now while Bella puts her blood and scent on every tree she passes. That will put the newborns in a frenzy and lead the,pm to the battleground, the set clearing.

             Wynonna lands on the ground beside Edward at the top of the mountain's peak. Ed smiles at her befofe Jacob comes up with Bella, he helped cover her scent because wolves reek to vampires, apparently.     

                Jacob walks over to the tent where Edward and Wyn are standing and he puts Bella down.

         "Thank you," Edward says to him as Wyn throws her web, and pulls herself into a tree.

         Jake nods, not saying a word to the vampire. He glances back at the tree and notices Wyn rubbing her pregnant belly.

            Bella looks at Jacob. "You should get back before the storm hits."

              "No, I'm staying," Jacob claims. "You'll need my connection to the pack, to keep tabs on what's going on. "

               Edward doesn't like the idea of having Jacob around because of his liking of Bella, but he also knows that Jake happens to be right.

             "You're not going to fight?" Bella asks as Wynonna jumps over and lands beside Jake, causing him to jump a little.

            "Seth will spare me in the morning," Jacob replies. "He's not happy about missing the aftopm, but it'll keep him out of trouble."

           Wynonna goes over to her singular tent and she wraps herself in a parka, a thick comforter, and her sleeping back to keep warm. She sighs at the warm with a content smile as she hears Bella's clattering teeth but Jake goes to warm her up where Edward is ice cold and would be able to help with Bella's coldness.

              Wynonna pets Seth's nose as she steps out of her tent the following morning in her parka coat. The youngest wolf rubs against her belly as Bella steps out of her tent.

                "Hi, Seth," Bella greets the younger wolf.

           Seth huffs in greeting as he trots up to the cliff area.

         "Where's Jacob?" Bella asks. "Did he already..."

          "Not yet," Edward claims as he walks over, Bella turns and she fades him. "He's checking yo see if the woods are clear before he goes."

               "I'm really sorry about last night," Bella says as Edward wraps an arm around her, Wynonna ya making a web wall so that when Victoria and Riley enter, they won't be able to leave until they're dead. "It couldn't have been easy on you."

              "It definitely won't make my top ten favorite evenings," Edward claims.

          "You have a list?" Bella asks as Wynonna lowers the fence so that the red eyed vamps can jump over it.

            "All ten I spent with you," Edward claims. "Number one was when you said you'd marry me, Mrs. Cullen."

                "You're marrying him!?" Jacob exclaims, having heard everything.

           "Jake..." Bella whispers and she looks at Edward. "You knew he was listening?"

           "He deserves to know," Edward tells her and at the confirmation, Jacob storms off. Ed looms at Wynonna, who just stood beside him. "Did I do the right thing? Telling Jacob?"

           "Yes, you did," Wyn replies. "But you did wrong by keeping it from me."

          Edward smiles at her. "My apologies, Wynonna."
    
           "You're forgiven... as long as I'm invited to the wedding," Wyn winks.

          Edward rolls his eyes. "Of course you are.  Vet what if you're in the hospital, having the baby?"

           "Then film it so I can see," Wynonna replies as of it were obvious. "What else?"

         Edward shakes his head in amusement as Bella asks Jake to kiss her. Wynonna rolls her eyes at Jacob and Bella before she looks around for any danger.

            Wynonna swings through the trees when Edward and Bella go towaed the clearing when Victoria's dead. She lands with them right as Felix Volturi is killing a vampire named Bree. Jane and Alec look equally shocked as they do intrigued.

            "Was I too late?" Wynonna asks everyone as the Volturi leave.

          Jasper shakes his head and he kisses Wynonna's head. "No, ma'am."

           Jasper kisses Wyn and he speeds her home. She's picking up the kids tomorrow.
